Only issue with waiting until EOY is that most 2023 MY will be really close to basic warranty expiry so you only get the 1 year CPO extended warranty. Unless you plan to swap it after 1 year, not sure people would like to hold to an out-of-warranty EQ. Probably a MY 24 is a safer bet?
Quick update. I got my wear and tear charges refunded, two rear tires, I put some cheap ironman tires. There was a chip on the hood which I got a body shop to buff up. They refunded the amount directly to my checking but they didn’t send any confirmation or email about it. I only saw it when I got a deposit alert from my bank.
Perhaps you posted earlier on this….but did you get dinged for them at inspection, then correct prior to turn in but still get charged? Not following the train of events.
Didn’t wanna create a whole thread so just asking here.
Is there a reason mercedes doesn’t allow lease transfers?
The wife bump to the car in front of her during school drop off. Low impact, no other damage except for the eqb benz logo and small hair line crack on the plastic grill. Since my deductible is $1k and my lease will end on december, should I
- Just return it in december the way it is and pay whatever they charge me hoping it’s less than repair cost
- Pay the deductible & get insurance to repair it now
- Try to repair it yourself
Thanks
DOn’t even think they will recognize that. I would just play it off
I would look into the replacing the logo (the process and what it would cost me) for the sake of my own sanity haha. In regards to returning the lease, I almost think that it would go unnoticed (if it is even an issue at all).
Leave it be
Yep dinged at pre inspection. Got it fixed before turn in. Dealer didn’t note anything on the turn in. Mbfs sent me the msds minus the charges. So I had to call mbfs and send in the receipts and was refunded
111 reasons the dealer missed the mark on the price, especially with 8888 mi.
Just circling back on my turn-in, received lease end statement and was just charged disposition, no wear and tear! So either they didn’t care for cargo cover or missed it, either way I assume they can’t alter the lease-end statement after the fact. Dealer listed it at $57k (‘23 eqs 450suv, 22k miles).
What was the RV in Dollars?
59% of 117k msrp, ~69k residual
So this car is technically $20k underwater at the lease return.
I can emagine my EQS with one accident on Carfax will loose another $10k easy. ![]()
For $37k i think I would buy it . $119k msrp. 2024 eqs 450 sedan with amg appearance. 18k miles on ODO. LOL
Here is my 23 EQS 580 SUV with a $57K RV
The issue with the 23’s is only around 1 year of warranty time life (or less). Hence the mileage penalty.
How much would be mine with the info above?
It’s hard to say because there is no “standard deduction” for a dirty carfax. What we can do is drop the condition rating to CR2.0, in my case that would mean a -$4000 adjustment. This is something of a worst case. Send me your specs to run it out properly.
if I ping you with my ViN can you check my MMR too?
Hey everyone,
I’m grounding my 2023 EQS 450+ SUV in the LA area (Van Nuys, Encino, or Calabasas) at the end of the month and have my pre-inspection scheduled for March 13th.
I need some clarity on the tire requirements. My EQS is currently on the factory Pirelli P Zero (PZ4) 275/45R21 110H (MOE-S / ELECT). These are clearly run-flats, but interestingly, my window sticker only lists them as “Summer Tires” with no mention of run-flat technology. Since the EQS doesn’t have a spare, I’m assuming the MOE stamp is a hard requirement for the return, even if the sticker doesn’t explicitly state it.
I’m curious about the real-world experience here:
-
Has anyone grounded an EQS in SoCal recently?
-
Did the inspector specifically look for the MOE or Run-Flat marking on the sidewall, or did they just care about tread depth and brand?
-
For those who had low tread, what did you end up doing (buying used, new budget tires, or just eating the MBFS charge)?
I’m trying to decide if I need to hunt down the exact MOE-S replacements or if the “Summer Tire” description on the sticker gives me any wiggle room. Thank you in advance!
