Mercedes Benz EQS Lease Superthread - 1

It was on for me, so I’m not sure which is default. It felt weird why it wouldn’t come to a complete stop, so I started looking in the settings. It would also not do the brake hold until I turned that off.

Yea they don’t make it easy to find. I had to use Out of Specs video to get my bearings.

Ohio. 10 char

I should’ve clarified, it’s for 6 months so $276/mo.

I am no insurance broker, but the quote seems reasonable. Is this for just 1 driver? What state? I am sure you aware that insurance premiums are based on a number of factors such as:

  • Driving record
  • Claims history
  • Location
  • Policy coverage

If you have AAA, give them a shot. I went through them last year, when my previous policy was set to go up in price.

EDIT:

Have you shopped around?

Even the dealer told us we can negotiate, just as they would be negotiating on all of these cars coming back to them - and Mercedes is perfectly able to say ‘no’ and take the cars back and send them to auction and get a small fraction of what they could have received with a negotiated buyout.

I think this was already discussed way up earlier in the thread that buyouts would be negotiated as no one (in their right mind) would be paying the contracted amount.

Nonetheless, the reason we keep doing 2 yr leases on EVs is the rapidly changing technology - when we get to solid state batteries with 500+ miles of range and 10-15 minute re-charge cycles, we might settle into something more long term.

I meant to put 50F in quotations. That’s not cold, so I don’t know why Tesla is limiting regen now at those temperatures, including after charging on Level 2 (which should still heat the battery up a bit). It seems like it happened in the last few weeks, with one of the last updates.

It’s been the equity for me lol.

It will have to be returned, then MBFS will probably auction it and take a loss, meaning you won’t be able to get a deal on the same exact car. Local dealership won’t buy it either.

Keep preaching.

I fully agree. The one pedal action in the EQS is subpar. It does not come to a smooth stop like Tesla, Volvo/Polestar, and even GM. But at least it’s an option altogether.

That’s really annoying TBH.

Agree! I’ve been trying to make this setting “stick” to my profile, but haven’t found a way! I also hate you manually have to change the drive mode each time.

I replied to wrong person. Your point is valid. MB won’t negotiate on lease buyout, no chance.

Audi Etron is the same - it resets with every drive. Very annoying

was just offered this on a 4k mile demo EQS. They wouldnt budget past 14% off mrsp :frowning: They have 21 on the lot so I guess I just have to wait them out

You mean a bunch of folks on an internet website have already decided what MB will do with the lease returns? Hope MB got the memo.

If this were a brand new car, I would say go for it. With it being a demo, I wouldn’t take the deal at that discount.

At the end of the day, it boils down to how bad you want this car. My $0.02.

Yup. If you want an EQS after your lease we will almost certainly be better off turning yours in and then buying used. If the price is right I may do just that. Thinking 45-50k?

Need some LH wisdom here on a controversial topic - getting a good deal on a $110k EQS 450+ Sedan (24months/7.5k miles $690 per month with $2k DAS and $9500 in MSDs) . Trying to decide whether to go with this vs a BMW i4 edrive35 at 36 months/10k miles $580 plus MSDs. Is the EQS really that good to command a $200 premium plus $230 per month insurance over an i4? I know it’s not apples to apples but still…
