Mercedes Benz EQS Lease Superthread - 1

Anyone know if Mercedes requires run flats if the car came with them? I saw an old thread on Mercedes non-EVs but nothing recent. Most likely will be changing tires in the next few months (or less).

I know, I saw them, but they don’t come in my size.

If yours came with runflats, you’ll need to replace with runflats. I think all EQs are on Runflats so yeah.

No, not all. @JSmith But what are you going to do if you get a flat??? The cars with conventional tires have a 12V outlet and tire inflator, cars with run-flats don’t.

Mine came with a 12V outlet and a tire inflator, the outlet is on the interior left hand side behind a flap. The inflator was in the sub-trunk storage, I think it even came with a repair pack, not sure.

But I live/drive mostly in city anyway, so I’d probably just call AAA and sit and wait.

That’s really weird that you have run-flats then! I was told it was either or. Mine has run-flats and no goodies. No 12V anywhere. Did have loaners with traditional tires that had 12V outlets on the left side of the passenger area and possibly in the trunk.

Damnnnn. That has to be the record and not in a good way. Do they know you are rich?

Another rich soul will come along and snag it.

All 3 of my EQs come with non run flats. Depends on wheel I guess, all my rims are 21”+. The bigger rims don’t use runflats.

Most likely call Mercedes roadside or AAA. The lack of a spare tire seems to be happening in some conventional cars too. I’m not sure I would trust a small jack to hold up the weight of the EVs when changing a tire anyway.

Found out through the service manager that the executive demo vehicle I’m getting has about 8/32 tread left. That’s after 10k miles so if they started with 11/32 tread, I have about 10k-12k miles left on the tires. Is that typical for everyone? All my other cars were able to go 40k+ miles before needing replacement.

Which dealer

This is false. Both of my EQS’s (AMG pkgs) have 21” wheels and both cars have run flats.

Same here.

You’re totally missing the point: with run-flats you can still drive assuming it’s just flat and there’s no major damage. Same if you have a slow leak on a conventional tire that you can temporarily re-inflate and have 12V outlet+inflator. That’s how Mercedes sees it and that’s why I was told that only cars with non-runflat tires get 12V plugs and inflators.

Update. Got an extra $1,495 off because I told them I’d cancel if they didn’t take the Zurich shield off so they created a new contract dated in April 2024. Still getting all of the discounts and now it’s at $677/month instead of $722/month. I guess they had enough room to play with or there’s an April incentive that replacedthe $7,500 March Madness.

My EQE 500 with 21” are not run flats either.

Build sheet says:

R06 - Low-Noise Performance Tires

It might be because the MBFS has locked a program for you, they probably did not pull a new credit, etc.

What is everyone paying for insurance on the EQS 580 SUV.

If you need to ask you can’t afford it
