Mercedes Benz EQS Lease Superthread - 1

I have been trying to work this dealer on an EQS 580 SUV loaner. I already told the guy to get rid of the fluff (LoJack, ceramic, etc) he is saying $110,000 is his floor and can’t go lower.

It’s showing it’s been on the lot listed for 478 days. I offered the following.

Wishful thinking or is his deal as good as it gets?

How do you guys find out how long a new car sit on dealer’s lot?

I look on cargurus. Not sure if it’s accurate but that’s what I use.

I see, thanks.

If this is a 3rd row unit, assume it won’t last long bc there aren’t many of those around. I don’t think you will hit your 25% offer, at least not until dealers start feeling more pressure which many of them notoriously will not. Btw- your sshot still shows mileage and MSRP which is enough for someone else to swoop this.

Not third row. I shot him my offer and maybe he will counter with something in the 500 a month range. Not sure they are willing to operate out of state as he said he had calls from other states.

Same here. Gives some kind of basis to start from!

That’s a different program. The leasing company gets $7500 under a different scheme and some choose to pass the discount to the consumer.

I’ll have to compare this to my mine later. I haven’t pulled it out of the garage and probably won’t for a bit since I’m still running up the odo on my Bolt before it needs to go back in a couple months.

The credit is being passed along to you from the dealership. Don’t overthink it – the dealer nor the IRS are going to come running back demanding that you repay the $7,500 rebate.

You have a rate mark up and 1700 in blessings. Is it possible to go lower? Of course. However the dealer might not be interested in selling it for less. If someone comes in tomorrow and is willing to take it for $800/month, do you have a back up plan?

Yes, offer him something else on another of the 8 EQ loaners he has on the lot. I just thought I could get steeper with this being on the lot for so long.

My offer to him also stated to remove the BS in red.

For reference, I’ve gotten 4-5 offers from different Mercedes dealers on the east coast on EQS 580 SUV 4Matics. 2 were from a broker and 2 were from dealers. Stickers from $133k up to $145k. Max discount I saw was 20% off a loaner in Florida. 18-20% off MSRP for loaners, 17-18% for new vehicles. New car dealers started at around 15% off.

I ended up going for a loaner with 18% off because it had the options I wanted.

What incentives and rebates they gave on top off the discount?

12,000 for AMEX, 7500 for EV lease rebate pass on. Standard rebate. Some dealers said the March Madness rebate was already baked into their discount, others didn’t mention it at all.

I hadn’t even considered jumping ship from bow to mercedes but you all posting these deals is making it hard not to consider it.

I’ve been reading trying to see comparisons to the iX and it sounds like EQS is better but then I also see complaints on the EQS. Anyone look at both in depth and can say how the two compare?

Also how much would you all budget for 3 years of maintenance on these cars? Ignoring wheels. BMW is free which is nice in the same way that an all inclusive cancun resort is nice.

If I should move this to off topic please let me know friends.

My subjective take on this…

If you go by exterior styling looks, the EQS SUV is better than the iX simply because the iX is so damn offensive.

If you go by interior infotainment, the BMW iDrive 8 is way better than what Mercedes provides. The Mercedes system is very inconsistent with Apple Carplay, and the general UI just feels laggy at times. The BMW system has never once failed me with Carplay and the little rotating knob thing is great when you don’t want to screw with touch controls on a screen.

If you go by interior driver comfort, the EQS is way better for my 160 pound frame.

If you go by cool ambient lighting, Mercedes wins.

BMW will also naturally be more aggressive on the suspension tuning and steering feel. I personally like Mercedes tuning better.

Both support one-pedal driving.

In summary, I think if Mercedes put in BMW’s iDrive, their car would be amazeballs.

Eqs is a different size class vs iX. IX is more of eqe size, it has same size as x5 whereas eqs is of same dimensions as x7. So depends on how big of a car you want as well.

At first I preferred the eqs suv looks, but after a while realized it’s shaped exactly the same as a Honda odyssey and it’s like a minivan. IX at least looks like a suv.

Interior wise the eqs is great though. Quieter, nicer ride than the bmw whereas bmw drives better. If you believe the msrp, eqs is also a better deal vs iX. Most features come standard on eqs whereas you have to top up for iX. The beige interior for Mercedes is gorgeous as well.

Yikes, strongly disagree on two things here: there’s no way to confuse EQS for Odyssey from any angle and as much as I like the EQS interior I hate the beige color. Of course, having a German Shepherd doesn’t help keeping it clean, lol.

Another advantage to EQS: real tilt/slide sunroof with shade. And massage seats are very common albeit not standard on EQS.

First hand experience here, just got rid of a 2022 iX and got myself a EQS 580 SUV.

The iX feels like a SUV and the EQS feels like a tank.
IX definitely still has the “fun” element but the EQS provides next level comfort.

It took some time getting used to but I actually started to like how the iX looks. I had the blue ridge mountain with bronze trims. The EQS is not too SUV looking, I wish it was just a little taller but I don’t hate it.

The EQS wins in the interior, by a lot. More comfy seats, a little more roomy, the ambient lightings, the little details in design(hate the center console tho), the quality of material, the sunroof that actually opens……

The iX interior feels kind of cheap. I can’t get over a 97k msrp car without memory seat buttons. The cup holders are weirdly placed, the charging curve sucks a lot. Other than that I really loved the iX. Digital key is a godsend, I am having trouble going back to carrying the key fob.

Both provide way more than enough power and torque however the iX can handle much more spirited driving than the EQS.

I drove a thousand miles to pick up the EQS, back and forth exactly 48 hours with 38 of those driving/charging.
I was lucky all the charging stops I had the EA chargers were working fine and didn’t have to wait once.
On my way to dealer I wanted to kill myself.
Charging sucked and my back was hurting me a lot.
Much better on the way back, seats are more comfy, charging was better, everything is just smoother on the EQS.

You really can’t go wrong with either at the prices they are going for. Keep the iX if you look for a fun drive and go get the EQS if you like a more luxurious ride.
The EQS will get you more bang for your bucks tho
