I’m looking at leasing EQS 450+ in Los Angeles. I got a quote for my insurance and apparently it almost doubles in cost to $586/month which would negate most of my savings. I currently am driving an E450 cabriolet. Has anyone else had experience with this or have a policy from a company that is reasonably priced?
Wow the car costs more than the monthly lease* haha.
. * if you’re @djrabbi
Yup! Same thing with my dad in NJ.
MBFS stay screwed me over again.
They “stayed”?
Grammar police lol
Hah how’d they screw you this time? They won’t let you end the lease or transfer it?
When I called my insurance to get a quote on the EQS (Connect by Costco) they told me on the phone that they would straight up not insure the EQS because of its high MSRP. So I contacted an insurance broker who quoted 4 times higher monthly than what I am paying on my BMW M2. Then I shopped myself and found quotes that are less than double of my M2 premium. Just to try out, I added the EQS to my Costco insurance online later and it worked! Currently I am paying about $120/month for the EQS though YMMV since I have my home and umbrella policies bundled with my multi-car auto policy. Long story short, I almost gave up on my EQS deal because of insurance too but if you shop around, you should be able to find reasonable insurance pricing.
On a separate note, does anyone notice their front suspension making a noise going over big bumps? It is not scraping the bottom of the car, it sounds like I can hear the suspension compress/decompress. I am wondering if this is how the airmatic behaves or if my fart car had been abused before me and if I need to take it in for service. The car rides beautifully, just the noise caught my attention today…
My 22 EQS has been in the shop for 3 days now. Dropped it off for the A service and evidently there were a few new recalls.
The service lady told me the recalls were taking awhile. They gave me a GLE 350 loaner which I am really liking. Is it bad that I would rather keep the 70k GLE over the 115k EQS?
Yup. So need to figure something else
@Dany1122 or @anon65069371 can tell you if it’s better to oversteer or understeer for best results.
You pay almost $300/mo for an E450??? Don’t worry about that EQS for now, you need to be shopping for a better rate.
Yeah they want you cover the Negative equity after the auction lol
MB financial does not like their customers- rip em round every corner
Yes because my home policies are bundled with them. I’m selling the E450 though.
Looks like Geico can do it for $330 but they need it to go to underwriter for 15 days which is weird
Yeah that’s the airsprings - abuse and return at lease end lol
This is what made me feel the eqs pricing to be really arbitrary. It’s just not as nice as a similar Mercedes ICE suv almost half its msrp. You are paying for it being electric to save you gas, but is it really worth 40-50k more to save 1-2k a year on gas?
It is weird seeing the gas gauge going down and knowing I’ll have to stop at the gas station to pay before I return it.
The look, braking system, and power are what’s missing from the EQS being worthy of the 100k sticker. The style needs a complete revamp and it needs to be as quick as a Lucid. It doesn’t need to be Plaid fast but I’m surprised by the lack of power.
I think it’s quick enough. It’s more powerful than most gas SUVs over 100k. It’s already burning a set of tires every 10-20k miles. For electric cars especially big SUVs performance is the last thing I really care about. What’s kind of missing imo are eg comfortable seating for 6-7, captain chair for 2nd row, bigger recline, powered doors, less plastic in interior etc. And yeah the exterior doesn’t have the road presence of a 100k+ car.
Here’s an AMG that just hit its first birthday… roll every MB lease/equity into a wicked one pay. Same dealership also has a cardinal red one. It’s like a clone of the one you already have but cooler.
I think I inquired about another EQS they had a while ago. Only 8% off
