Just signed a deal last Wednesday; can’t seem to figure out how to make it work on calculator.
Model: 2022 EQS 450+ sedan
MSRP: $106,640
Selling Price: $85,640 (includes $3,500 fleet)
Incentives: $9,000 ($7,500 welcome and ev conquest)
MF: 0.00184 (dealer insisted the MF wasn’t marked up but I didnt see it in writing anywhere)
$2,422 DAS + MSDs with payment of $549.64
Calculator doesn’t match, so I assume they marked up MF
No question the current EQS lease deals are the best value. It is just a little too big for around town garage parking. The EQE did have lower payment, about $50/mo. less with similar options. In fact the $60K EQBs had similar lease payment too.
Which one of you got a SUV and waived at me on BQE today? Ha ha
Same for me, I got spooked by the size of the EQS and got an EQE that has all the same cool features, energizing comfort, memory and massaging functions, heads-up display, a fragrance and air filtration system, all-season tires, all the goodies. The only things I don’t have are the airmatic suspension (and I think rear-axle steering… ). I did it purely based on size and the fact that I drive vs being driven so I don’t miss on pretty much any of the comfort. I feel more comfortable driving the EQE in and out of city buildings tight underground parkings vs. a larger car.
Hi, is it limited to only 80% charge? I was not able to adjust the max to higher than 80%.
No, your car might have automatically set it to 80%, you have to manually change it. Also charging slows down a lot after 80%.
Yes, it is 4Matic. Ride is smooth and it’s fast. Charging was simple and quick. Overall, great car, I’m only 5’1 and thought it was too big but no adjustments coming from a CX9.
I think it’s an option in the SUV too but you can set the car to auto adjust your seat according to your height.
Isn’t this more of an OG Parking Sensor than a GPS?
I just look to my left for the dent where I open my door.
It took me a few tries to figure out how to do this, too.
There’s a mode, ECO charging, that will cap your charge at 80%. But you can manually drag the charge percentage up to 90 or 100 in the app, possibly on the MBUX display too, I just did it on the app. See attached screen shot with arrow — can drag that box upward while it’s charging to get to 90 or 100 provided ECO charging is off.
My 1k mile SUV review:
Great car at any price. A few things keep it from being an amazing car at MSRP, but at the prices we’re getting, I don’t think there’s a car on the market that offers a superior combined package of:
- Comfort
- Cargo space
- Power
- TCO
Primary usage is as a family car to take my wife and infant daughter around. I’d say 20% of my miles have just been driving aimlessly around while my daughter sleeps in the back. To elaborate on the above:
The car is really comfortable to drive. Seats are nice and adjustable, massage and heating work well (though massage could be stronger), the perfume is an unexpectedly nice feature, the cabin is really quiet even without the acoustic silence package, there’s plenty of room for passengers in front and back even with rear facing car seats installed behind, and the SUV doesn’t have the same head room or rear visibility issues that the Sedan does. The one knock is that the ride can be a bit jarring — potholes, speed bumps, and hard turns at speed are a little harsher and bouncier on the occupants than I’d like.
Cargo space was one of the things that really drew me to the car (the other being price). There is a LOT of room in the trunk — enough for my daughter’s honking big stroller, Beach accessories, and a week’s worth of groceries without sacrificing any room in the interior cabin.
Power. A lot of people are complaining the car is slow. Compared to cars at half the weight, sure. For its size? Hardly. At the end of the day there’s enough on hand to execute pretty much any legal driving maneuver you want, and some illegal ones, too. Make sure beginner driving mode is OFF (cars default to this so important to disable) and sport mode is ON if you’re test driving. Could it be faster? Sure. Get a 580 with the speed package if you really need it. But the plain old 450 is more than enough for someone who isn’t looking for a performance machine (which is not why you should get this car, in my opinion).
Finally, throw in the free charging and even at 900/mo effective you’re probably in the neighborhood of what you’d spend on a competitor (e.g. X5, Volvo XC 90), and it’s debatable as to whether those are better cars.
So all in all, I’m happy with it at the price I paid and would be willing to go higher because that’s what I’d have to pay to “improve” on the car.
Last comment: for everyone worried about the size of the EQS, I really encourage you to drive the SUV first before making a decision. The first night I had it I was a little freaked out after looking at it parked, but the cameras / turning radius / rear wheel steering make navigating super easy once you’re comfortable with the display.
Obviously if you’re driving down tiny European style streets all the time it might not be the best choice, but in a major city (LA) I’ve had no issues, and my wife, who by her own admission isn’t the world’s most proficient driver, hasn’t either. If there’s physical room for the car, you can comfortably get it where it needs to be. This has been the most surprising part about the experience for me — how easy it is to drive such a big vehicle.
is this 4matic SUV ? I ask because the estimated range is high when I compared to mine(I know depends on driving syle but was curios)
For those with 13 months leases, did you like the EQS so much you wished you should have gone 24 months or you’re a hacker and want to get out as soon as possible with lowest payment, cash outlay.
Agreed on a $388 payment on an EQS suv with $2500 down for 13 months. Dealer submitted the deal to MB financial and they said the deal can’t have negative residual. Dealer is telling new payment is $499 because of this. Is there no way around this?
Calculate the dealer discount plus incentives, if the total discount is lower than residual then they are right
You should be rolling everything in to get the max discount.
Hi Jeremy, are you located in socal? Which dealer did you get this deal from?
