To die to get out of the lease?
Or to kill a relative? ![]()
Ha! You can keep your options open. This is a lease hacking forum after allâŚ
I like to think my father in law is smiling knowing he somehow saved more money on his Mercedes.
I mean for those heavily deep in neggy⌠death is only way out baby
you mean Death** certificate.
Glad it all worked out for you. MBFS is great in this way, I am sure they can sell that vehicle still for a profit somehow.
I went through this last year with my dadâs BMW, which was a real mess; it took months for BMW to take the car back.
Donât forget to cancel the car insurance. You usually will be able to get it prorated to the day of death.
Bmw has a return on death no debt clause?
Technically the lessee is dead and the lease is non-transferable, so BMW has to repo it. The problem was that the dealer didnât want to take it back. I went back and forth with BMW financial services, because at that point the lessee was dead, we returned the plates, it was uninsured, and I had stopped the payments. I was saying to them Iâll just give it to a friend whoâll stick it in a container to the DR.
They finally sent us a form that essentially was a voluntary repossession form (which I signed as the executor). It took 2-3 months for them to get the car from start to finish.
Ok so you strong armed bmw into taking it without impacting the estate.
Hassle or not, that worked.
But still BMW doesnt have a death clause, you just made em take it
BMW FS said they did, but it takes work to get them to honor it. MB definitely does it better.
