Thanks for that @JMMZKDTH . I returned the loaner and rented a vehicle. I have a busy schedule and their harrassment for their car back was hard to keep up with. I also want to be a good citizen. Will save my receipts and ask MBUSA to reimburse.
I understand with “lemon-ing” the car, the manufacturer is expected to address the issue or replace the vehicle, any idea with “buying back” the car should I have an expectation for the same ? Or should I start working on a negotiating a brand new lease ? Anybody has experience if they refund the extras purchased such as tire and wheel protection ?
I believe buy back means they reverse the deal completely, including probably any add-ons.
It may help your case with the dealer and MB corporate if you tell them you are willing to lease another vehicle instead.
But yes I’d get a consultation with a lemon lawyer to make sure you have that in place just in case. I wouldn’t tell the dealer or MB you’ve spoken to a lawyer unless you need that nuclear option. Often they clam up once they hear that. At any rate, hopefully it won’t come to that.
Good recommendation! Spoke with Adam; good guy. Honest and didn’t try to oversell me or advocate for legal interventions unnecessarily
Said the repurchase is a good outcome to get to
Replacement is tough from his experience; dealers make vehicles disappear when a replacement is considered
