A dealer today offered me a $599 lease on an 86,700 SQ4. However when I ask the dealer basic questions they are not being transparent. I attached the worksheet he gave me.
When I asked why it didn’t have the 10k per year listed on the sheet and also the base and tax this is the answer I received. Which is giving me some concerns.
From the dealer: "Documentation is the previous emails I have sent and the recently the last 2 will detail the lease with a total of $2,500 out of pocket doing 36 months/10,000 miles a year including taxes at $599.
It will be on your lease contract."
Take a look at the numbers below:
RV = 49%
MF = .00047
I leased almost the exact same car in May. You are getting a better price reduction, but RV and MF has gotten worse. My RV was 53% for 7.5k, and my MF was .00013.
$599 is before tax I assume.
Looking at your deal $2,500 is just cap reduction. So, that is like pre-paying $70 per month on this lease. You will have to write a check for a lot more for drive off including tax, title, license, first month’s payment, etc. your drive off could be 4K to 5k. I’d avoid any cap reduction whatsoever. Just pay the TTL and first month as drive off and pay more monthly.
Have you discussed maintenance? It costs a fortune on these cars just to change the oil. You will need two services at 12 months and 24 months. You can turn it in at 36 months without doing that service so long as you do not exceede 36k miles. So, you will only need those two first services. You can buy pre-paid maintenance for $1,400 and roll it into the deal, but it will add another $40 to your monthly.
SQ4 is a very nice ride. Tons of power and grip, plus the sound it makes in sport mode… The 2017 infotainment system is a big improvement. However, minor annoyance — the tech patch bay in the center console where the usb and the tray for your phone is located — It’s nice, but the door cannot close while the phone is connected to USB. So, it has to be open with a cable dangling to access Apple CarPlay. Not smart!
Appreciate the insight, I have reached out to confirm that the $2500 includes drive off. They are saying the taxes are included and I asked like five or six times. As for maintenance they said the prepaid maintenance offer was $1599 for three years of maintenance.
Which color did you get I actually have my choice of the Grigio Maratea or Grigio Metallo
Mine is a big black beauty with 20” Uranos and red calipers. The interior is black with the red stitching. So I have the black/red thing goin’ on. If I had to choose, I’d take the darker Maratea. I don’t think you need 3 years maintenance. You just need the first two services. The third year they can pay for after you turn in the car.
Was scheduled to pick up the car on Saturday was hit with a snow storm and they pulled the deal since I couldn’t make it by 6pm. Was really hoping the would give me the offer on tuesday when they reopened but no dice. I think they had another buyer lined up.
