I’ve always purchased my vehicles in the past, due to high mileage driving, but now I’m driving less than 7500 a year, and a lease really makes sense. I’m doing my research in advance to ensure I get the best possible deal when I pull the trigger on a lease for a 2026/2027 BMW i4 or i5 xDrive40. I plan to lease sometime around spring or summer 2027.

If anyone has experience working on great BMW lease deals and would be willing to provide advice, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! I’m willing to find something locally or even nationwide if I can get a deal good enough to work in the delivery.

Come back in Spring 2027 as it’s waaaaay too early if you’re not ready to sign!!! In the meantime, just browse signed deals and posts to see the process/deal structure.

Agree w/ the post above.

You can peruse the Marketplace and Signed Deals & Tips to see how the cars you’re interested in are leasing (and to find a broker and/or dealer).

The one problem is that there won’t be an i4 then. If you want an i4, you need to get it now. Many dealerships are already sold out.

Just get one from SAL to start when ur ready. At times there can be great deals specially if you dont have loyalty and other rebates to qualify for.

i’m not a member but iirc bmw cca had a 1-year member requirement to join for any affinity discount? Worth checking

If Penfed is offering anything you have time to become a member “just in case” (time was 60-days)

See if your employer offers BMW corporate discount, if not find/join an affiliation at that does

Look for BMW Drive events where you can earn an OL code

Post-sales rebate for new cars, depending on model and membership duration.

You’re really early unless you really want an i4. They are being discontinued for the new platform which won’t role out until later in 2027. The i5 may be in the same boat. If you want something early, you could probably get a great deal on the remaining i4s as BMW works to clear out its inventory of them.

Programs got nuked out of orbit for all but the west coast this month so to be totally honest a lease transfer is OP’s best bet.

Are there “usual” reasons for the bank to do that, or it could be any number of random/macro reasons?

There’s 5 times as much inventory left in western region compared to the rest of the country.

Unfortunately for those who fall outside that region, BMWFS now bases the program you get on your registration address even if you do find a car in western region.

I’m assuming that’s only for new lease origination and not something that impacts taking over an existing lease from someone? Any insight into how difficult it is to return a lease here in Michigan if it originated elsewhere?

You can return a BMW to any BMW dealership at the end of the lease.
