Yeah, in less recent memory, but I’ve had situations of begging dealers to dealer trade for inventory for hot deals, or during COVID dealers were taking huge baths on 4xes to get allocations for better and profitable cars later.
OP - the broker, and dealer are giving you more off to make the numbers right, I think you need to realize that hot deals go quickly, especially with the visibility of this forum and SoCal market and give them some leeway since they’re trying their best to make it right, which is more than most dealers or some brokers would do.
I think this is very fair. Things happen fluidly, and I think you are very honorable to agree and make the situation right and go deeper with programs changing if the client wants it, as well as proactively offering a refund and parties walk away clean with the client free to try and find a better deal elsewhere.
I wanted to share some great news and close the loop on my earlier posts. Tonight, the car was delivered to our house and everything went smoothly. We filled out the final contract and it’s all good.
I’m especially grateful to Advanced Auto Brokers for keeping their word and honoring the deal we agreed on — even when I was starting to have doubts. This was my first time working with a broker, and I worried it might feel like dealing with a dealership salesman. Instead, the terms stayed consistent, even as Ioniq availability tightened over the past couple of weeks.
Then today (Tuesday), just after posting an update here on the forum, Mike called me with great news. Within hours the car was sitting in my driveway, and the whole process wrapped up seamlessly. Honestly, I had been bracing myself for yet another delay — so this was a welcome surprise.
So what’s the takeaway? As a first-time buyer using Leasehackr and a broker, the road had some bumps, but the outcome was excellent. From my experience, working with Advanced Auto Brokers proved to be worthwhile — and in the end, Mike delivered.
A good ending indeed! Now you have a great story to tell your friends about your first lease. Some of the brokers on here are just brilliant and Mike delivered. Advanced Auto Brokers is going on “my highly recommend list”.
Thanks to everyone who shared their thoughts in this thread. Rafael’s car was delivered with the exact color and payment I promised from the start, THIS WAS NEVER IN DOUBT.
Congrats to Rafael on the new Ioniq 5.
Conversations like this are good for the community because they let everyone see how things actually work, where delays can happen, and how important communication is in this business. At the end of the day, we stand by our word and focus on saving clients both time and money.
Appreciate the support and the time everyone took here.
Now that everything worked out I guess I will chime in.
First of all , I don’t blame OP for the post since he genuinely seemed to be concerned (as I would be too using a service I never used before) and the missed timeline. Especially frustrating when you’re missing a car. You have to realize basically he is trusting someone he probably never met in person and gave him his money and now he is getting promises and delays. Very happy it worked out.
But what really impressed me was not just the responses from Mike the broker, but the other brokers (the competition) that actually chimed in and explained the situation rather than take this opportunity to badmouth another broker hoping to make themselves look better or gain future business. Wow!!! Very impressed and made me love this community even more bc of the professionalism. So as a result not only would I feel comfortable with Mike as a broker but all 3 brokers that took the time to chime in and stand up for a fellow broker who they feel are in the trenches with them and know the logistical nightmare he is going through. Kudos to you all and you should all know that if I ever need something I would not hesitate to Contact all of you!
