You’d probably want look into EVs due to (A) no sales tax in NJ and (B) additionally a $2-4,000 rebate from NJ ChargeUp while funds last (federal tax credits are harder to pin down so I’ll ignore those at the moment) and (C) no gas usage and possibly free charging in some places.
If not, probably something like a brand new 2022 Corolla LE financed at 1.9% APR for 48 months.
Charge up is for nj dealers onky correct? From my experience they almost ALL add that back into the adm. the bill tax is a nice perk, but still have to spend $50k+. That’s over $1000/mo financing, not really affordable. Maybe get lucky with a bolt. Also don’t know I would trust a college student to keep their car charged. I ran out of gas before when I was young and that’s much harder to do then allowing charge to run out.
