Lexus TX 350 lease advice

Hello! I’m located in NYC area and wanted to see if I could get advice from anyone here. Currently have a Mazda cx-50 leased ending on March 2027. Went to a local Lexus dealership and they told me they would take the Mazda out of my hands and buy it off from Mazda and offered me a TX 350 Premium black on black with capital chairs for $875 / month plus $5,365 out of pocket | 12k miles 36 months. Have others seen better deals on the TX 350? Thanks in advance! ny lexus

I don’t think this is a car you want to lease…

Hi! Thanks for replying! Can you explain why? Thanks!

Your effective monthly is over $1K, your total cost of ownership is going to be close to $40k in 3 years for IIRC a ~$65K MSRP car. Lexi hold their value very well so they usually are not very good lease candidates, better to finance.

How much negative equity do you have? How does the current payoff compare to 3rd party valuations you should get seperate from the dealer? Also agree, this is a vehicle you should finance.

As an aside, you shouldn’t bundle your CX-50 into a new car transaction. If you have equity, check all the usual suspects (Carvana, CarMax, etc.) to see if there is any equity to capitalize.

Not only do Lexuses generally hold their real-world resale value well, they also often do not lease well to comparable cars b/c of realistic RVs and high MFs.

Possible negative equity from your Mazda being folded into the Lexus lease quote makes it harder to evaluate your deal. Please post your best attempt at the calculator.

Is there a reason why you want to get out of the Mazda?

Hi everyone! Thank you all for the feedback! I did some digging as you all mentioned and a few third party sites would buy out the Mazda and put me at breakeven with the payments I have left on the lease. I would like to switch because it’s too small for our family and we would like a bigger car now. I called another Lexus dealership and they offered 12k miles, 36 months, $899 / month, with $1500 out of pocket for the same model (didn’t mention the current lease we have). considering on waiting and see if closer to EoY there’s any incentives that would get us a bit lower in monthly payment.

Make offers instead of accumulating quotes. Use LH calc here or a spreadsheet to put together target payment/DAS offers. Control the process but you will need to know the math. It isn’t hard but so many people don’t even try. And then they sign contracts they don’t understand.

Lexus leases are terrible.

Pick something else to lease or buy the TX.

thats not entirely true. they look decent if you buy down the rate or do them through third party banks.

That raises more questions, such as which bank? I wouldn’t take USB or Ally but YMMV.
