Working a 450h quote with a dealer. Get everything ironed out and then I say, ok, now let’s add in 7 MSDs. he does so, nothing else changes except my sales tax goes up by 200. That seems crazy that a security deposit is taxed in IL. Can anyone confirm? Don’t recall paying tax on my Mercedes in 2016 when I put down 9 MSDs.

It’s a sales tax question. not a deal question.
No sales tax should be taken on MSDs. They may be doing something funny with the deal. Also check the MF, perhaps its too low for MSDs to bring it down.
