I have a 2017 Lexus, so you’d think I’d have some insight. Thing is, I drive so little that despite getting 2 free services, both of which must be used in the first year, I only took it once, because at the close of the first year I was at < 5k miles. I only got one free service haha.
My example of Lexus service is an anomaly, as I don’t even know what a dealer oil change is. But the 5k service is only an inspection, they don’t even change oil, so the cost of those services can’t be insane. This is one area Japanese luxury brands go a little easier on you than the Teutonic crap.
That’s a 16.7% discount (including rebates) on a current year good-seller. You can’t negotiate RV and MF you’ve handled with MSD, so I would call that a pretty good deal. It’s definitely above average.
That’s a personal choice. I’m so addicted to new car smell, I wouldn’t even consider 45 months. I can’t keep a car more than about 24 months. Also depends on marginal wear and consumption–if those tires crap out at month 43, you didn’t save a penny, at the risk of being repetitive.
For $16 a month, to me the shorter term is a no brainer. You may feel differently. But if you choose 45 and at month 40 change your mind, it’s gonna cost a lot more than the payment delta.
Lexus actually willl let me out 6 months before so I can decide if I should get out in case tires or brakes are looking bad. Overall though, with the data I posted is 379 a good price for 12k miles? What should I do or say next to negoatiate lower payment or higher mileage?
Any dealer will “Let you out” at any time. They’ll just roll the remaining payments/payoff into a little something we call negative equity so you can pay a lot for a little bit of vehicle next time.
Don’t bank on ANYTHING that isn’t explicitly enumerated in a contract. Right, attorney?
Thanks a lotl for your help with this. I think 39 month lease makes more sense since I won’t have to worry about tires or brakes hopefully.
Would a deal with 15k miles for 39 months on the base f sport for $415 a month be a good deal in your opinion with no money down except tag and first month?
If you truly need the 15k, the RV looks nice compared to the 45-month at 50%, in my view. Looks solid. I think any cheaper will entail negotiating that isn’t commensurate with the potential savings.
