Lexus NX 300 f sport base model lease

Data. It’s your friend. :sunglasses:

I have a 2017 Lexus, so you’d think I’d have some insight. Thing is, I drive so little that despite getting 2 free services, both of which must be used in the first year, I only took it once, because at the close of the first year I was at < 5k miles. I only got one free service haha.

My example of Lexus service is an anomaly, as I don’t even know what a dealer oil change is. But the 5k service is only an inspection, they don’t even change oil, so the cost of those services can’t be insane. This is one area Japanese luxury brands go a little easier on you than the Teutonic crap.

And those X5k mile services are no oil change even, so can’t cost a ton.

I got some data from the dealer.
Msrp 40,200
Selling price 33,478
Residual value 50%
Money factor .0006

This is for a 45 month lease. 379 a month including tax. Tag and first month down. Is this a good deal?

That’s a 16.7% discount (including rebates) on a current year good-seller. You can’t negotiate RV and MF you’ve handled with MSD, so I would call that a pretty good deal. It’s definitely above average.

Pull the trigger, if’n that’s the car you want.

It’s definitely the car I want. I just want to make sure I’m better off with the 45 month lease at 379 a month versus 395 a month for 39 months?

I want the best deal out there and hate not knowing how much lower I can get the dealership to go

That’s a personal choice. I’m so addicted to new car smell, I wouldn’t even consider 45 months. I can’t keep a car more than about 24 months. Also depends on marginal wear and consumption–if those tires crap out at month 43, you didn’t save a penny, at the risk of being repetitive.

For $16 a month, to me the shorter term is a no brainer. You may feel differently. But if you choose 45 and at month 40 change your mind, it’s gonna cost a lot more than the payment delta.

Lexus actually willl let me out 6 months before so I can decide if I should get out in case tires or brakes are looking bad. Overall though, with the data I posted is 379 a good price for 12k miles? What should I do or say next to negoatiate lower payment or higher mileage?

Is that written on the contract? Stuff salesguys say is often horsefeathers.

I have already shared my opinion on the price.

What do you mean they’ll let you out? Like they’ll pull you ahead to a new lease?

What’s the point of leasing for 45 months if the real termination date is 39 months?

To get the cheaper monthly payments. So I pay the 45 month price but get out at 39 months.

How much more on average is 15k miles versus 12k miles? I think I need to switch to 15k

It’ll lower RV by one or two points.

No, I understand the value to YOU. What’s the value of Lexus structuring a contract that allows you to leave 6 months early?

Any dealer will “Let you out” at any time. They’ll just roll the remaining payments/payoff into a little something we call negative equity so you can pay a lot for a little bit of vehicle next time.

Don’t bank on ANYTHING that isn’t explicitly enumerated in a contract. Right, attorney?

You can’t just “get out” early. You have to sign a new lease for a pull-ahead offer. Lexus may offer 2-3 months pull-ahead, but it’s not guaranteed.

Thanks a lotl for your help with this. I think 39 month lease makes more sense since I won’t have to worry about tires or brakes hopefully.

Would a deal with 15k miles for 39 months on the base f sport for $415 a month be a good deal in your opinion with no money down except tag and first month?

Need MSRP, RV, Acq fee, Discounts, Rebates, MSD, MF etc for deal evaluation.

i agree, do the 39 and maybe u get a 3-month pull ahead (not guaranteed) when the time comes and you get out at 36.

Msrp 40258
RV 54%
MF .0006 (putting down 7 msd’s)
Incentive 1500

No other fees except tag fee of 250

If you truly need the 15k, the RV looks nice compared to the 45-month at 50%, in my view. Looks solid. I think any cheaper will entail negotiating that isn’t commensurate with the potential savings.

I got them down to 400 a month with 15k 39 months. Same info as above with zero down and 7 msd. Is this is a deal that I should take and run?
