But if you have Volvo?

My friend was very lucky with last month Volvo lease return. She paid $390 for these damages.

So I went this route recently. I originally bought my daughter a used car but she got into a fender bender and it had to be totaled. I then got her a blazer ev one pay lease.. It was a really good deal 6000 one pay and she used it without any problems for her senior year. Now I am driving it for the remaining time on the lease.

Huh? Why not? That’s the reason you put a teen on old paid off car. If they’re in accident and it’s their fault, just write off the car.

Agree that’s exactly why you have your kid on liab only self insure for collision

I own a Volvo currently, was looking into leasing a xc40 for safety for him, she was indeed very lucky.

I have big question about XC40 safety and its “forward collision avoidance” system after it did not engage to prevent swiping a parked car at 23 mph.

Car accidents are one of the leading causes of death among young adults, especially new teen drivers. Older cars are not built for the monstrosities on today’s roads. The latest IIHS standards have forced manufacturers to update their safety cages and overall survivability.

I really can’t implore people enough to forgo the old mantra of putting your kids in a beater. The cars can be replaced folks.

I have replaced an embarrassing number of volvo tow hook covers: the part is $30 and only comes unpainted in black. The last time I had paint mixed for one (minimum) was $260. I’ve had 50/50 success buying already painted ones off eBay.

The move from Sensus to Google was 11 steps backwards to go 9 steps forward, the quality control has been dismal. They just did a 2nd backup camera recall because the last fix didn’t completely fix it - 4.x fix coming over the air anytime.

You know my :sweden: experience has been mixed: 3.6.4 with pip 360 camera has been the most stable of any Volvo I own. The only problem I have is my charging plug won’t unlock first or second time, I have to keep locking and unlocking the car until it finally clicks. Lane keeping, FCA, RCA all behave 99% of the time.

Over the holidays I finally found and setup a suitable Volvo VIDA workshop PC: a 13” 2020 Intel MBP with bootcamp. I got tired of returning :wastebasket: Dellz.

Kinda depends on your definition of beater. I was able to get a high mileage 2015 Lincoln that had some reasonable safety features for 3000 bucks. It doesn’t have 2026 safety but it’s not horrible.
