A 12-14yr old car’s condition doesn’t change much with miles if it’s owned by someone who keeps it nice…. If it’s nice now it will remain nice. But you do you.
As long as you maintain that car properly, what difference giving it to him at 100k miles vs 130k miles? My son was driving my e46 with 160k miles on it.
Because it has 200k.

The more reason why a couple thousands miles won’t matter ![]()
I understand….. look everything you and MaxG said is true. I don’t disagree with that. Did your son at least get a 330 ZHP or did you give him a 323 ci convertible?
Not ZHP, 330i with sports package, he still complained, old car ![]()
Ouch. But at least you’re a good dad like @max_g
Analog I6 BMWs are all worthy to some degree, and a 323CiC is a lot nicer than most cars at the same price
That’s the other point I was gonna make: chances are your priorities are not their priorities. Let’s be real about how college cars are treated. They’re gonna live outside under tree sap and bird poop. They’re not gonna get hand washed, waxed, and paint corrected. Same for mechanicals.
When I bought that e46, I got the chance to buy similar one with manual trans & ZHP package for $1-2k more. I should have bought that ZHP and can sell it at the same price now, however, it would have killed me for the 4 years when I had to do 1-1.5 hours commute every day in stop & go traffic.
His friend got a new civic and he thinks that one is better. Ouch ![]()
Bring back twist dial volume (Porsche scroll is actually my favorite
), physical button climate control, regular door handles, and get rid of half of the damn screens.
There I said it
C’mon.

“Big ass, infotainment screen”
There, fixed it for you
Lol that’s hilarious
