Lease Takeover: 2017 Tacoma Double Cab TRD Sport 4x4 Manual – $225/month – 15.2 Leasehackr Score

I just picked up a BMW service loaner and am thinking of getting rid of my 2017 Tacoma. It’s a great truck and an incredible deal, but I don’t drive enough to justify keeping an extra car around. I’m posting here to see if anyone in the Northern Virginia area is interested in taking over my Tacoma lease before I put it up on Swapalease or Leasetrader. The truck is in great shape, only has about 2,100 miles on it, and is well-equipped with the factory tri-fold tonneau cover, V6 tow package, navigation, TRD shift knob, and a few other accessories. The $225 payment includes Virginia sales tax, which I rolled into the lease. None of the Virginia dealers I talked to over the summer could get anywhere close to that price, so I actually flew to Ohio to get the truck from a dealer who leased through US Bank.

There are 30 months and about 27,900 miles left on the lease, so you’d get a little over 11,000 miles per year. I am not looking for any money down. You’d just be responsible for US Bank’s $150 application fee, $500 assignment fee, and the future monthly payments and the $395 disposition fee.

Here is the breakdown of the original deal:

MSRP: $36,251
Selling Price: $33,383.55

Months: 36 (30 remaining)
Annual Mileage: 10,000 (~11,170 per month for remainder of lease term)

Money Factor: .00135
Residual: 84%

Total Due at Signing: $700 (paid some inception fees up front; not looking to get these back on the transfer)
Monthly Payment: $225 (includes VA tax of $1,385.42 – 4.15% of selling price)

Leasehackr Score: 15.2
PM me if you are interested. Thanks.

Here is a breakdown of the options on the truck:

Nice deal, whats the buyout out of curiosity and where in Virginia are you (county is fine)?

I haven’t requested the current buyout. Between the 84% residual, remaining payments, and fees that US Bank tacks on, I’d expect it to be more than the truck is worth. The lease end purchase option is $30,800.84.

I’m in Arlington County.

Good deal, I would definitely consider this if you were in SoCal

You’ll have no problem finding someone to take this over, great deal

Yeah, shipping to California would probably be pricey. I’d prefer to transfer the truck within Virginia if possible, but I’d be open to transferring it out-of-state if whoever assumes the lease is willing to come pick it up.

If this were an automatic this truck would be gone already, may be a little tougher with the manual but im sure you will find someone in no time. Have you put it on any of the toyota forums?

I haven’t – that’s a good idea. I have a couple of people interested but I will definitely do that if no one decides to go ahead with the transfer in the next day or two.

Get it on “Nice Price or Crack Pipe” on Jalopnik… Half the readers of that site would probably soil themselves over a manual Taco.
