Thinking about opening this thread where people can swap cars for short term (or long)
The template will be somthing like this:
MY car: xyz
Looking to swap for: xyz
Amount of time wanted: xyz
My area: xyz
Any thoughts?
I can’t see anyone swapping a lease for a short term without an outright transfer. There’s going to be insurance implications, liability implications, etc…
If it’s short term, wouldn’t that be covered under “guest driver” category?
If you are in my car, and wreck it, my insurance takes the hit, regardless of “guest driver.” Likewise, I have no idea what kind of insurance you carry, although, theoretically, if it’s a lease, it would have to be a fairly high amount. I’m not risking getting into an accident in your car, you not having enough insurance, and then getting sued.
Furthermore, if you get 7 speeding tickets while in a car registered to me, and decide you don’t want to pay them, they’re coming after my plate.
