Lease or Finance a 2023 BMW X5 x40i

Extending it means paying additional interest. Gonna buy it out

You must have gotten in when the residual was still like 57% to get to that payment unless you stole it on the front end.

Yep. 58 % residual

Aren’t you going to pay interest when you buy it out? Even if you pay cash that’s opportunity cost. Your MF is probably low so you should milk it. The only reason not to extend is if they don’t adjust your RV or if you have some equity that you want to extract.

Have you analyzed if/how the new refresh next year will impact the value if you buy?

Not to knock the ID8 but I like my buttons.

Good point, from that perspective X7 may fare better as it has iDrive 8 and a cruved screen and better discount of 8.25%, but RV not great at 52% just like X5. For my liking it’s too big as well and wouldn’t fit in the garage.

Who’s selling LCI X7 for 8.25% off?
Someone’s allergic to money.

Yeah. 2022’s.

23 is LCI.

I see that now, 2023 is at 3.25% off.

This has almost no impact on the OP’s 6-year ownership scenario.

He should at least consider it because almost no and no impact are two different things. It’s possible that in 6 years the non- LCI will be selling at a discount. Also if he’s going to hold it for 6 years he should factor in maintenance.

There’s nothing more normal than an LCI coming out and then a new model coming out. Doesn’t matter if the LCI comes out tomorrow or in a year or in two years. Your forecast for the 6th year resale value remains the same.

It’s like saying the forecast for Walmart’s next 5 years earnings doesn’t already include the normal seasonality of Holliday spending. All known information is already baked in.
