Lease or Buy in this market. General opinions on the BMW X3xdrive30i, Genesis GV70 2.5T, Mercedes GLC, Audi Q5

I saw that but unfortunately the dealers here in the Midwest are actually set of making a premium and not a deal. The one close to me asked $990 for the $59k Advanced one. The one with $64 the other dealers around here were quoting $1098 which is ridiculous even for a class above like the GV80, BMW X5, and Mercedes GLE.

The love the GV70 2.5T w/ the prestige package, for what it is though fully loaded at $64k but I wouldn’t go beyond $800/mo even in this market. $800 is a good deal to try this out in this market and if you have it I would say it take it and enjoy it at even 200 more per month. They are giving the superior equipment comfort and gadgetry wise, which even the Porsches cannot match in the next level up as well. But if it’s sportiness and driving dynamics that you are looking at then the GV70 is not with its nervous and bloaty handling. The Porsches and the BMW X3 xdrive40i have it beat square and fair.

Agreed with your assessment but I did enjoy it more than the base Macan. However the market is ridiculous and while I pine for the $399 deals of a year ago I’m not ready for a $1k lease payment. I have the feeling shortages will correct themselves and chips will find a way. Then we will be stuck with these things. The cpo comment was a good one.

The 3.5T should be compared to a X3 40i, not an M.

Right my bad. X3 40i not the X3M. It’s not even close to the 40i, forget about the M.

No matter what you do currently, you’re spending a pretty penny. I went through the same predicament as you and decided on purchasing a new telluride. Your choices should not entertain buying used or cpo. Unless you go cheap and buy a runabout for under 10k. Out of principle, I won’t spend approximately 20k over 3 years for a luxury vehicle let alone a mainstream vehicle, your choices are about 30k over a 3 year lease!!! Unless you go the beater route, be prepared to take it up the arse. Good luck.

Yeah I do see your point and I am with it , and no I am not paying $30k for a 3 year lease for mid luxury car. Was just scouring through all options. I might rather buy with finance and keep it till the warranty runs out.

Also, none of these car have any value or ROI, that is well known. There are always cheaper alternatives in terms of a car to satisfy the transportation needs but that is not all it always isn’t it. Sometimes (or many times) the mental happiness also matters and drives than consumerist world.

Any tips on buying a Telluride? What was the deal you got?

My “deal” was paying MSRP - $50715, for a fully spec’d SX with premium and nightfall in Wolf Gray. Most dealers charge above MSRP, typically 2k but some as high as 7k. I live in Pittsburgh and called about 20 dealers around the area. If you order now, it takes at least 6 months. I happened to luck out as someone just cancelled their order which is why I’m getting it around Christmas and the dealer doesn’t mark up. How times have changed…
