Thanks! Me too… could have been a lot worse. Yes had the police report there was a third car involved and my insurance and theirs said it was the hit and run drivers fault and just closed it out since they have nothing to pay.
That’s what I thought. They’ll probably say well you should have checked when you added it that it was on there since it as added at a later date.

I honestly don’t know what the best course of action is. One possibility is: save up as much as possible between now and March, return the car at the end of the lease, wait for the bill, plead hardship as much as you can, and then pay off the balance with either savings and/or take out a personal loan.

There is no magic solution. You are on the hook for repairs. That looks like $6-7k worth of damage at a reputable shop. Everything got very expensive since Covid days. Trust but verify everyone’s work. Ignorance isn’t a defense.

yea i’m screwed… i’m going to graduate in December with tons of debt and no way i’m gonna be able to get a loan to cover that I’m not working I wasn’t able to work with school. Sooo stripping it is?
Honestly, i don’t know how PA works. But no dealer would let me even esign until I got insurance added, binder sent and verified the right vin and deductibles.
So how they let you go home with the car without insurance on a leased or financed car is wild…
