Hoovie tried and no luck, these were a V12 and an Alpina though, he gave it a good effort 
. Doesn’t take much to mechanically total one of this German boats

His shows are entertaining, but not necessarily representative of a real ownership experience. Multiple times he went out and bought literally the cheapest one for sale in the US… because clickbait
I have zero interest in an E65/66 but I would buy a well-cared for W124 E500 regardless of his experience
Oh for sure, but I think it just shows why these cars depreciate so bad, the maintenance is just so ridiculous. Even if they were taken care of, there’s no guarantee they won’t crap out
That’s where the two car scenario comes into play
