Bro…I think the advice is still falling on deaf ears. Everyone is saying …. with this kind of coin you want to spend, you can get better numbers on MORE EXPENSIVE and BETTER CARS than a CLE 300, not “overall cheaper cars”. The CLE 300 is a 4cyl turbo and does not lease well …
How did you go from a $785 payment per calculator up to $1009?? I can understand your set on this model, but it doesn’t sound like this is the right dealer.
I’d move on and find someone who’s looking to move a car. It’s brand new, there’s plenty of them around.
Dont get me wrong i understood that too. You’re suggesting for example a BMW. Not going to lie, i really dont like those. Its just not my thing. Audi has nice coupes but i’m not a big fan of them either. Believe me i hear & really do appreciate it HONESTLY. But those makes aren’t for me.
And yes i understand that puts me in a bit of a situation, but theres no way i’m going to spend 3 years with something i dont like.
Yep i’m coming to this same conclusion. Another poster recommended this visor.vin site that checks dealers nationwide. I’m on it now checking around
If your absolutely set on the CLE 300, purchase it. It leases badly.
If you are open to other Mercedes, then maybe talk to a broker here and get more bang for your buck on a MB lease.
Also, I never suggested a BMW…
It reads like your numbers are all over the place. Best to know what you’re going to pay beforehand, then go and target that number.
Find out the MF/RV/incentives for the year model and trim you want in your zip from either Edmunds or RateFindr. Understand your credit tier and what you should be paying. Then go look for the car. Plug it into the LH calc and you’ll know where you need to be.
With all my MBs I’ve targeted and got 12-15% off MSRP for new. More if it’s leftover or demo/loaner. Then add incentives. Much easier to evaluate a deal when you can compare it to your own homework.
Per myles21 play with this OP!
Ive had all the other models including previous C, E & S coupes. Theres only one available now. Hence the focus on the coupe now. And as i mentioned i said “For example” to illustrate i understood what you were getting at.
Appreciate that. The things you mentioned i’ve actually done believe it or not. This dealer just wasnt matching what the calc was showing.
12-15% off MSRP? Are you shooting for this range regardless of model? How did you come to this range? Whats the pushback (if any) you give when they say no (aside from going to another dealer)
Yep!! I definitely needed this message a few days ago!! I found out VERY quickly that i the dealers weren’t coming to the same numbers i was & that was frustrating. Unfortunately for me i learned this one the hard way.
If you say so then sure but it’s difficult to grasp that notion from this perspective. I guess if you knew all that already, why are you trying to push this deal (?)
The range I learned from this community and once I saw it was achievable I’ve stuck to that discount. Yes there’s always pushback, but ultimately I know it’s possible so I stick to my target. If a dealer doesn’t like my price I’m ok with that - I’ll find one who’s looking to move a car. You’ll get 8% all day and a great hack would be in the 15+ range (if you have the time searching for it).
As stated through this thread MB doesn’t lease the best - but like you, I like the brand. I’ve had C, E, GLE, GLC and just closed on my 2nd newest GLE. I know I can drive a different car for less but I enjoy Mercedes and don’t need the best hack out there - I’m happy with what I consider a solid deal within MB.
Lol… ok i can see how my framing can come off as “pushing the deal”. I understand what you mean. Just for quick clarity the reason why i’m even in here is to ask questions from those that know more about this than me. So when i posted this was merely a question looking for feedback which you & others have gracefully given. I’m appreciative because you didnt have to help.
Ok that range is what i’ll be using from now on. This is what i really needed.
Yep…we’re the same. I just so happen to prefer this brand. Thats all.
Totally get it, that’s what this place is for.. to learn. We appreciate your appreciation. I’m very grateful for this site as it’s taught me a lot and saved me thousands , I’m just paying it forward. Good luck!
Edit: too bad we’re not into Jeeps. Those things are leasing for like 200 bucks lol
200 Lol… insane!!
This guy gonna sign at $1200 and complain. Watch
ASKHOLE
Appreciate customers like OP that let dealers cut one-offs
This is very interesting, and very stereotypically Philly.
Joking aside, you clearly have a lot of cash to burn. Purchase this car which gives you time, or keep it, until something comes along that you really like or is a good deal.
I agree with everyone here saying there are better cars for less money. However, as a current owner of a CLE I can say it is a great car for what it is. A 4 cyl 255 hp Mercedes. Very comfortable and I am always getting compliments. If you can get it in the $700-800 range I would go for it. Yes, it is not fast (may or may not have gotten beat by a cx90 last week) but it is very comfortable and the interior is amazing. It sounds as though you would trade out comfort and tech for speed and performance. In that case, I would recommend going for the CLE over the M340. But again at the price you can get a M340 at right now.
Not sure where in PA you are located but I’m not too far from Eastern PA area. Feel free to PM and I could ask around if there are any demos or new CLEs in the area with higher discounts.
Agree to fiance if this is the car you are stuck on. Any reason why you won’t? Run the math on both. Not every German car falls apart 1 mile out of warranty.
