I am holding a TX dl but I am temporarily working in IL, my families are in TX so I do not want to change to IL dl, can I still lease a car and register it in IL? TX have crazy leasing tax on full price of the vehicle so I do not want to register it there.
As I know, IL charges tax on the price of vehicle as well, same as TX.
They changed this last year.
If your permanent residence is TX and only temporarily in IL, what are you going to do when you go back to TX? You won’t continue to pay IL taxes and will have to convert to TX tax anyways.
