Lawsuit or keep trying?

Go repo it or hire a company to repo it and sell it. You are gonna take a L on it regardless.

Can he even sell it without the mom signing off since she’s also on the finance paperwork for it?

This is most likely what would happen. The mother swoops in to protect the son.

I went through something similar in 2016 (I was not even aware the mother was involved until it was nearly too late). And then, the mother dared to defend her son when everything about the deal was shady.

“My son is a great man!”

No, not if he (and you) lied about everything.

It is a life lesson. We all learn from our mistakes.

Is snowy off ramp off the table yet?

Unless he can bring the snowy off ramp to the parked car, probably not an option.

Who’s name is actually on the registration though?

Dont think so but its better for the mom to go along with a sale than let the bank repo it

Going to play devils advocate here and assume this gesture was to help someone get back on track for any number of reasons. Maybe if possible it would be worthwhile paying them a visit in person to discuss things respectfully. Come to a solution that way. Understandably you’re in a less than ideal position but filing charges would probably mean headaches, falling out, and almost guarantee no peaceful resolution.

If all else fails, maybe put it up for lease transfer? Make, model, and quality of deal may make that possible.

It’s a 2018. The likelihood that it’s a lease and that it can be transferred is zilch.

Is it safe to say you were dating the mom, and now the deal isn’t going as planned?

What’s the LH score on this covfefe ?

I wish I could come to an agreement, but it seems that my number is blocked

This is a civil matter - the police will not repo a car if they are on the title.

Why not just set up shop across from the RR service department until it showed up on a tow truck?

Dude can’t afford the car, he’s not flat bedding it to the dealer unless they intend to dip out with the loaner and abandon the ride (Seen it before, lol)

Letter in writing to return the car. If that doesn’t work, report it stolen? Not sure what other options you have that won’t destroy your credit. Who is the car registered/insured to?

Also, how do you forget the model of a car you are paying for?

I get that you may want to help an ‘acquaintance’ in need, but do needy people trying to get onto their feet typically need a 2018 Land Rover Unspecified Model? Feel like I’d be wary of co-signing that let alone having it in my name. 2018 Hyundai, Chevrolet, VW SUV wasn’t good enough for he-who-is-without-credit?

I think OP is cognizant at this point of what a poor decision this was. Less piling on and more solutions, please!

Never a good idea to sign for anyone

Bad credit is a red flag – The mom is going to be unhelpful – Just find out where the car and take it –

Also if it goes south – the delinquency and repo will dent your credit for years to come – No bank officer will accept the explanation –
