Land Rover Discovery

There doesn’t seem to be much on here about the LR Discovery, I’m guessing not a great lease? Are they the same as the Jag F Pace? LR website has the Discovery Sport HSE for $439 36/10 miles lease with about $3400 down. Any advice?

From all accounts, the car is terrible (I didn’t even do a test drive due to all the opinions around). As far as leases, RR doesn’t lease very well too … combining both, not much to talk about.

@chrisgo, ok thanks. I haven’t gone out to drive one yet, I have driven the F Pace and thought it was ok.

Go and take a test drive & let us know! I think next year’s model is what people are expecting when they fix the issues. But it may be hard to make this do the “basic <1% MSRP” so if you like the car, that may be the best you can do

I’ll check it out. I noticed that Edmunds doesn’t have much leasing info on the Discovery.

Interesting. I considered this because there’s a 3rd row option. Its a good looking car and could potentially fit in our garage. I think the models with a 3rd row in inventory in SF started at 53K MSRP. They quoted me $4500 down, $599/month + tax. So about $650/month.

I checked it out and it was hugely uncomfortable (driver seat is hard), it’s soooooo sloooooowwww and not a great cabin in general. If none of that is important, go for it.

It’s ride was fine overall and I agree it’s pretty good looking.

Best lease offer I got was $535/incl tax IIRC on the mid tier spec but even if they got to $400 I wouldn’t have taken it.

I’d recommend a test drive and cross shop with some other brands. If the third row is important - your choice is limited.

I don’t need third row seating. But those lease figures sound pretty high. Hard seats, slow hmmm? :-1:

Wow, I’m shocked at the negative comments on the Discovery. My wife has an Evoque and received a 2017 as a loner vehicle a while back. I must say, the Discovery was a much nicer vehicle in my opinion.
A lot roomier than Evoque. I actually considered leasing the Blacked out Discovery a few months ago, but couldn’t get any dealer to budge on the price.

Interesting, I was going to lease an Evoque for my parents but never got to the test drive portion yet (mom & dad just sat in one at a dealer and made sure they can get in and out easily). So you are saying I should make them test drive both then …

There is a new Discovery about to come out any day now. I suggest most of the opinion you have read is from the old model. Might be worth trying the brand new one.

I test drove the new Disco and found it to be very comfortable and roomy. Materials were really nice as well. Infotainment was a little laggy and it wasn’t as fast as I’d hope. Didn’t talk numbers cuz I knew there would be 0 discount.
