@bmwdave I am in the same boat. Please let me know if you have found any answer.
Just a little update. The dealership where I have a history of purchasing and leasing BMWs just finished the lease end inspection and gave me the report. As expected, I just owe for the miles. The other $2k of items the shady dealership I was dealing with weren’t real wear and tear costs.
So it definitely makes a difference what kind of a dealership you take it to. Don’t take it to BMW of Ontario (California).
I can see how a lease end protection can be be worthwhile for a piece of mind when you turn your lease in.
Leave them a review on Google or your platform of choice and make sure to upload the bill they wanted to stick you with. Upload it here, too. Would love to see how they came up with $2k worth of damage.
This is correct. You have no way to prove she said that, so hiring an attorney is out. But I’d certainly contact corporate, file a formal complaint against her and the dealer, get a claim #, and ask to be made whole from the experience. Bmw doesn’t like things like this going on. There is some accountability there. That is really beyond shady
Do you have to had brake job done at dealership?
Again, it is against the law to force you to have repairs done at a dealership. You can go anywhere you want, including doing them yourself. Just save the receipts

I left them a yelp review. The extra $2k was from a windshield that had no wear, an oil change that wasn’t done, a scrape on the underside of the front bumper that you had to get kind of underneath to see. The legitimate BMW dealership charged me $85 for an oil change, and the rest were never issues so they didn’t come up.
