Jetta GLI offer

Been scouting the GLI as my next car, and received an offer for 36mos/12k. Out of PA (philly)

MSRP is 30, 235. adjusted CAP of $26,762.
payment of $349/mo with only tag due at sign ($296)

Not sure if this is a good offer/payment for this vehicle…considering waiting till Oct to see if new incentives are added. Any thoughts?

I don’t know how well VWs lease, but $350/mo for a $30K MSRP car isn’t good, generally speaking.

Something about paying within about $75 to $100 of the price of a $60,000+ Mercedes E300 for a VW Jetta just doesn’t sit right in my mind.

Well to be fair the VW is new and the E300 is a loaner with unknown # of farts on the seat.

Did they give you a breakdown of the offer? If not, ask so you can see what discount they are giving you versus any incentives. You should also confirm the money factor they are using to see if they have marked it up.

That’s true, but I was quoted ~$450 per month in Walnut Creek, CA for a brand new E300 with package 1 plus some other goodies totalling ~$60K. But this was in June and required 10 MSD but zero other drive-off. And it was 10K/year, not 12K, but still.

That dealer in Walnut Creek has good deals. I almost got a CPO e350 from them last year. They had the cheapest one on the west coast at the time.

They do have some great deals if pushed, but they don’t always start off at a good point. But I guess that’s part of the game.

10 msd’s + 2k mileage difference? That’s gotta be well over $100 difference from my quote. So really your deal is probably $150-$200 more as opposed to $75-$100 for your E300 if its configured the same as my quote 36mos/12k.

I just got the adjusted cap cost, msrp, residual (54%) and monthly with tax…

So go back and ask for it, then we can give you better feedback.

I know the MF for this month is supposed to be .00050 for the model.

Ok and so what? Do you know what fees they are charging you? What discount they are giving you excluding rebates? There are any number of factors that could be going into how they arrived at that monthly payment. We can not give you feedback without the details. If the dealer is legit, you can ask for the details and they will provide them. If they have something to hide, they will fight you and you will know its time to look elsewhere.

VW Jetta GLI for $350/mo
Or
Mercedes Benz C300 for 322/mo

It appears Jetta GLI leases SUCK right now. Why would we get a GLI if we can get a Benz for cheaper lol.

Thanks for your reply, I didn’t realize I was in the C300 forum of lease hacker. How many MSDs do I need for that benz?

Yeah, many here don’t realize that if someone wants a cheap lease it might be because they don’t have extra $3-4K for MSD and don’t want to pay $700 for every service. But $350/mo for Jetta is just too high.

Agreed. In fairness, it’s a turbocharged nicely equipped Jetta. But I think $350 is a bit too high as well…which is why I posted on the forum!

These guys advertise at $8,310 off MSRP, but don’t include freight and fine print says pricing will be adjusted for outside DMV. Contact them and see what they can give you.

Some or all might be, but worth a try.
