Jeep offering up to 15% off the purchase of a 2023 model Grand Cherokee. Does it make more sense to lease or buy?

,

That would give you the depreciation portion of the lease (although missing a bunch of incentives and capitalized fees), but is ignoring the rent charge, and as you mentioned, taxes.

RV of 50%. MF of 50% would be beyond usurious.

I’m looking to lease a new 2023 or 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee and feel overwhelmed with the amount of information to sift through. I’m also feel rushed to get a deal done before the end of the month when deals might end. Any advice for Charlotte, NC and the surrounding area/states?

Also, I would greatly appreciate any feedback available on the RV & MF for the below.

Term: 36/12K and 36/10K
Zip Code: 28277
Year: 2023 and/or 2024
Trims:
4xe
Limited
Overland
Summit

Thanks So Much!

NC dealers won’t budge in price.

My Cherokee is sitting at auto park in Cary. You can probably get a good deal on. I went out of state for it

Having current, accurate information for residual value, money factor, and incentives is important in understanding your deal. As such, going directly to a source that has access to that data from the captive banks is your best option.

Rate Findr has that information, as they have direct access to it from the captive banks. It’s a tool on the Leasehackr Calculator, available to Super Supporters.

MF is usually quoted as a decimal number, like .002, or an annual percentage. The decimal number is used in calculating the lease fee portion of the lease payment. You want to find a vehicle with a low MF. Morecleading zeros is better, i.e. .0005 is much better than .001. You will find dealers that mark up (increase) the MF, but should offer a bigger discount for the privilege of you paying more in rent than depreciation.

Why did you jump out of your lease so quickly?

Ask my first 5 wives. lol jk

It was a place holder till my wrangler came in

Great feedback, as I just started with this site and will sign up for the additional Rate Tool now. Thanks!

Darn…I had no idea. This is great insight so I don’t waist too much time and anguish trying to get dealers to move on price locally. What states do you suggest expand my search too? Where did you get your Jeep from?

Also, do you recommend I close on a purchase by Jan 2nd for the best lease deals - per the manufacturers discounts. I’ve been told by the dealers that most will go away at the beginning of the year. I’m starting to panic a bit and feel rushed - but won’t to get the best deal.

If all else fails, I’m also open to other car makers like Toyota, Acura etc… depending on a great lease deal for a mid sized SUV. Thanks again, as I really appreciate the valuable guidance.

Get your deal together and begin emailing your offers to dealers in NC, SC, GA, TN and VA. I was able to nab a 2022 4xe from Cary Autopark in July @$490/month with $490 (first payment) DAS.

Who cares when you sign?

Where are you located?

Similar situation for me, looking at 2024 Grand Cherokee Summit 4xe with every option, MSRP $78,490. Dealer in Florida is at $997 all in per month $0 down 12k per year. I came here and I’m seeing $82k summit reserves going for less. Should I push harder or go back up to Jersey for a better deal? Car will be registered in NJ. Thanks for any input.

Which state has better incentives?

Seemingly the better deals appear to be in Florida. At least for Jeep and BMW when compared to NJ.

There’s no way BMW deals are better in FL than NJ/NY.

And whatever you’re seeing on a GC SR that’s “better than $997” might seem acceptable in a relative sense but probably not on an absolute basis.

Notice I said “seemingly”, and the deal I was offered on a base X5 was better in Fort Myers than what I was offered in Rochelle Park. AND they were pricks on top of that.

As for the Jeep, I just don’t want to overpay on a lease for what amounts to essentially a 4 cylinder car with bells and whistles that are not ergonomically designed and lacking auto hold(which I still can’t comprehend). The MSRP’s on these Jeeps are comically bloated to begin with.

I actually wanted a summit reserve, some insane deals here for an L with the Hemi. The reddit threads on initial quality and reliability turned us off. Even basics like dashboard glue being too weak to handle a hot day.

Good afternoon hackers.

I’m looking to strike a deal today with a local dealer here in California.I’m looking for a summit reserve. I found a few that I like.

I found a leftover 2022.
A 2023 and also a new 2024.

I want to lease, but if financing the left over 22 comes out to the same price.
I’m OK with that.

I spoke to one of my local dealers and they were saying that a 2024 leases out just the same as a 23.they aren’t really discounting much off the msrp, maybe a few thousand.

What would your guys recommendations be as far as what type of discounted pricing should I ask from the dealers on the last day of the year?

Thx :raised_hands:

Go to San Leandro CDJR take one of their 23s they were willing to go 15% dealer discount probably will go more. They have 2 units with rear seat entertainment. I gave up after reading the initial quality issues and reluctance of jeep to warranty.
