Jaguar (seems cooked?)

It looks like they googled 2 door concept car and just went with something on the first page of results.

Jaguar is so strikingly similar to Cadillac here…total brand identity crisis, and grasping at the most far fetched concepts to try and stir hype.

This concept is not going to materialize in any remote form of its current state, nor go anywhere in terms of building their brand, and LR will continue to support Jaguar until they decide to kill it, just like Chevy continues to support Cadillac.

On a car level, the concept looks like crap, and if I had to guess Jaguar is trying to make some sort of a budget Spectre.

I was thinking ChatGPT. It made this for me.

All I care about is whether this new EV will be hackable in a couple of years.:grinning:

Wow that’s a seriously ugly car.

And they went from a non-binary “fear nothing” ad campaign to immediately walking it back and adopting the most gendered new car reveal ever?

Don’t recall the last time any OEM introduced their new car with a set of blue and pink “his and hers”

It’s actually thems and theirs.

I only read the bold-faced bullet points…

I welcome new and interesting cars (even if they may be ugly) to the market. Everything looks virtually the same nowadays due to crash test and safety regulations. Automakers have been getting lazy with exterior car design recently. Regulations are driving all around car design and no one (with the exception of the cybertruck) has been willing to rock the boat to make something wicked.

So screw it. I welcome it. I hope Jaguar launches it. EV car sales are here to stay, hate to break it to some of you guys. I don’t think they’ll fully replace ICE, but it’s clear to me there is a market for EV cars, they just need to be affordable. Arguably, this is not going to be affordable.

Cybertruck did buckle the design convention but now they’re deleting the designation for Foundation Series edition cars so they can sell them as regular - not much demand left it seems. And trucks are sitting on the lot now.

EVs are here to stay, yes. As battery tech gets better, they’ll get cheaper and better.

Jag’s decision to go double whammy on their change (ev only + radical redesign) sure turned off a lot of people though.

They seem to have dropped their plans for chasing volume. If they go boutique then all they really need is a small market of really deep pocketed individuals to attach themselves to the brand. Going this deep into branding could be an attempt to galvanize themselves and root the brand into a specific market. I just haven’t quite figured out what that market is, though.

I’m sure Jaguar has figured it out though.

Gta6? This is so bad lol

Nothing says premium JLR or Tesla like a shitty matte wrap finish.
