Is the dealer playing games on my order deposit?

I ordered 2 base GC 4xe last Dec. through ourisman, 2*$1000 deposit. It should be refunded if I don’t take delivery and they sold to others. It has been 3 months since both cars arrived and I refused to take them, but the dealer says that they haven’t been sold. I couldn’t find these cars on their website, there is no in-stock GC 4xe in their website (they said custom-ordered cars were not listed online). So I’m skeptical: is the dealer lying to me to keep my deposit? I’m in a different state so I can’t check in person.

Maybe call them as a “random” customer and ask what their GC 4xe inventory is?

Can you explain this more? What does the contract or deposit paperwork say regarding refundability in a case where you refuse delivery?

Based on OP’s statement, he was told that he’ll be refunded once the cars are sold. However, he should surely see what’s documented vs word of mouth.

That is not true.

Dealer will sell cars to others. Once cars are sold, deposit should be refunded. It’s written.

Maybe someone here with a CarFax membership can trace your VIN?

They took awhile to refund my deposit. There was no “will refund when sold” clause though.

They can’t keep deposits in VA.
