Is Mercedes required to provide final inspection report for lease turn in?

In December family member utilzed pull ahead program and returned EQS SUV, 4 months before lease maturity. All tires were below required minimum and no inspection at all was perform.

Now, the lease account is closed, dealer took/bought it from MBFS and sold it for $50k, only $20k below RV on the lease contract.

Do you have a picture of this damage. I’m worried about mine going back in a few months as well. I just wondering how forgiving they can be or if it’s noticably broken.

Thanks for the info. How long did the process take from ground to lease end statement and MSD return?

Were you informed what happened to your returned car - whether it was auctioned or purchased by dealer?

The dealership I returned to actually said they were not going to purchase the car because payoff was too high. I called them when I received the lease end statement to ask about the inspection. They informed me they purchased after grounding and did not do a final inspection and to take up charges with MBFS. MBFS asked for a receipt and check came in the mail 2 weeks later.

12/10 - Pre-Inspection

12/17 - Leased new MB with Loyalty Accelerator Program

12/30 - Returned lease to different MB dealership

01/06 - Received lease end statement with exact charges on pre-inspection report and $500 damage waiver, vehicle disposition fee credit, and remaining monthly payments waived

01/08 - Submitted receipts

01/27 - Received full MSD refund

I spoke to MBFS - my question was simple. I see the amount that was quoted during pre inspection. She reminded me it’sā€pre-inspectionā€ and amounts aren’t final until a final inspection is performed. How does MBFS guage the amount? I’m asking this because I’ve had nothing but terrible experience at this dealership, so much so that I have started to hate MB.

When I last went for a tire change, I was quoted $4,700 and knowing them, I would t be surprised if it’s $7k+ oR more (the damage hasn’t worsened, but just bad experiences galore). Per the inspection the amount was $700. I’m anyday willing to pay the pre inspected amount, so I just wanted to be doubly sure that the quote is correct lol.

I mean that looks pretty bad. Seems some decent dollars to repair.

eh just a bumper and an emblem. I know what the repair worth, but no interest in getting anal’d leaving it in hands of MBFS

Maybe best to have it looked at elsewhere before grounding and if it’s within the $700 range have it fixed. It’ll remove the worry about what MB will do.

I’m surprised the bumper would only be that amount, sounds like a steal. I had my hood replaced due to a small dent and I was quoted $4k from a body shop.

LOL, you have 2 deep paint scratches on both sides and a grille replacement…not cheap!

Significant rim rash too both sides…damn…you have more damage on this car than I’ve had on all my cars in life…maybe some driving lessons?!

No shit…this car looks thrashed! All the paintwork on the front and sides plus broken grille along with the rim rash…can’t imagine what interior looks like…ugh. $700 is insane low, can’t believe it really.

$700 for it is nothing IMO.

The same way my friend returned Volvo with those damages and the bill came with $390.

She paid the bill the same day. LOL

Did mbfs refund the charges on the inspection report or the amount shown on the receipt. I have been asked to submit receipts for the two tires I fixed

edit: Sounds like they took the charges off the lease end statement and refunded your full MSD
