Also, if I read the law correctly the excise tax applies to the msrp and not the purchase price so that difference can be even higher if that’s the case. Which gives me pause whenever I see those crazy 13/24 month etrons here. Yes it’s a low monthly but if I have to pay ~$4000 in excise tax in march, in full, each year it’s not really a deal anymore

Pretty sure excise is based on selling price and then obviously scales down each year.
Anyway it’s moot on a RS etron GT. It’s a hefty nut after payment, insurance and excise. The delta between excise being based on MSRP or selling price is trivial in that grand scheme of things.

Well took delivery of the Altima today. I definitely got a “6 for a 9” on this deal, because the figures on the lease agreement didn’t match what was agreed to on the phone. They were not off by much. I think the padding accounts for about an extra $20-$25 monthly on the payments vs where the agreed to figures would put it.
And because of my own fault and how close it was to needing to turn in the other lease, I didn’t have the ability to walk away (which I’ve found is the only “power” the buyer has in these situations). You live you learn, I guess.
Performance is so underwhelming…nothing close to the couple of Infinitis I’ve had in the past (G37 & Q50). Anyway, I like the color “Gray Sky Peal” and it looks nice on the outside at least!
Edit: The GM I dealt with got fired last week, and a new GM was there today. Since the person I dealt with isn’t even there anymore, I don’t think anyone would have honored what he told me on the phone anyway.
