Went to a dealer today for a test drive. Nice kid assisted and the ‘finance manager’ gives me this. $13k+ one pay. Either his numbers are screwed up or he didn’t care. I didn’t have the time to talk it out with him.

As it is said on here 100’s of times per year…literally the most effective tool in the LH toolbox is to research what an aggressive yet possible deal is and make that offer to the dealer via email. Their is a 0% chance you are going to walk in, “ask for the best numbers” and get offered some kind of LH worthy deal. More often than not as the case is here - they shot for the moon hoping to land among the stars.
This is so far away from being a reasonable deal and more than likely it was at the dealer closest to your house and at this point their isn’t a way to bridge the gap. Research in the marketplace on LH what other Kia dealers / brokers are currently offering these as well as look in the “Signed” section on LH and either go with a broker or start making offers based off the data you collect from your research.
No argument here. The only reason I went in was for the test drive to see if I like it or the Equinox better. Of course he gets to give me his offer.
I’ve purchased two new cars at dealers in the last ten years and both deals were done over phone/email w/zero haggling or issues. I’ve never leased but it shouldn’t be any different (and my lease deal will go through a broker).
Is it realistic to see a 24/12 one pay for under $6k in the region? I have Conquest, Costco and supplier discounts. I see the SEL is easily achievable but I was not impressed w/the interior/appointment.
