That’s my understanding too, but the only EV I’ve driven is the eaTRoN and it felt heavy and lethargic from a stop.
The original SUV that people here were picking up for $1.99 a month.
Don’t forget the Audi Taycan when talking about etrons
When it’s time to get serious, I’ll definitely take an honest look.
Those wheels are strictly from hunger.
Fighting for every last wh/km
There are a couple of more reasonable options.
Actually… I don’t even see the ones in your photo on the US site.
Heh. I ended up getting a used Porsche Boxster S (718). Prices are starting to ease, I needed a car pronto, and found one well maintained several K under market due to mislisting. I’m fully expecting 30% depreciation over next two or so years. Even so, with maintenance, should be ~$500/month to own then resell.
I looked at a bunch of cars, including electric and a 2012 911C. Depreciation would be better but you were right: the car felt quite old.
Interestingly, the Boxster only added $20 a month to my insurance. I wonder if that’s because I’m probably 30 years younger than the average owner. I’ll take the crap to drive a car this fun.
You’ll have a lot of fun with it based on the raves I’ve heard from others… no one I know who’s had one has regretted it.
$500 a month is modest if you love what you drive, and you may be pleasantly surprised when you sell.
Have fun!
nice, i had a 2013 991 c2s way back then…besides the smallish nav screen and lack of a back up camera, im not sure if theres anything else I would need electronic wise.
The modern 718s are very nice cars. Fun to drive and worth every penny as a drivers car.
I wonder why
Could you give me this dealer info as well? I’m an hour from philly
Thanks
Agreed 100%. Family hauler ICE plus a fun commuter EV is my plan. My current line up is X5 45e for the family hauler and 330e for the commuter. Placed a Kia EV6 order (with three different dealers promising no mark-up) to replace the 330e if the Kia dealership does not try to pull a fast one with their EV6 price or with the 330e trade-in value…
If I had to get a car today, I would get one that would immediately have positive equity and then, after a few months, sale for a profit. So maybe the 4XE.
In today’s market, do any other vehicle leases come to mind that are known to have positive equity?
The question of “If I had to get a car today” assumes the person needs a car on an ongoing basis.
The question of what to flip is a different question.
FYI, If you notice the dialogue on this particular channel, much of chatter has strayed from the “if you had to get a car…” question…Just sayin’
…but yes, my question is probably best left for another channel
You should start a separate topic, cause I’m also curious on this.
Welp, I purchased a Chevy Trailblazer for the wifey on Sunday. So I guess that would be the car if needed today. It wasn’t my first choice. In fact I would not have bought a car like this at all, if not for the shortage. Based on getting it at MSRP, and a 0/48 loan it was a no brainer. Everyone’s situation is different, but for me, this works. We will own it and 4 years, and then hand it off to one of the kids to destroy. Maximum utility.
