I got 99 problems and a Frontier ain’t one. (A new year’s guide to a transitory lease in a car you probably don’t want)

A dealer called me today and offered me $245 /month with $1300 down.
total lease: $5710
Combine that with the property tax I would have to pay on this lease, and the fact my wrangler seems to be arriving this month, I would probably decline this.
He told me these were the February numbers and explicitly told me he no longer can do the previous cheaper deal he made.

From the looks of Nissan’s website, the SV seems to be the next deal to make.

So SV now has 99%?

I don’t know the RV but the only advertised lease deal on the nissan site is for the SV.

So they called me back today and offered me a 2$ less per month payment lol.

269/mo + tax with 541 das.

I told him to put it in writing with a breakdown and I might just take this thing.

I really wish it had the bed liner and was black like Tuna’s.

I have no bedliner in mine fyi

Did we ever find out the new numbers for Feb?

It’s 98% now for the S, same money factor.

Even in the good times this was arguably unnecessary for an informed customer who already knows what a good deal is and what an acceptable deal is.

Now it’s just asking to be put on the back burner while they see if the next N people in line can be a quick and easy sale.

It’s not always the money that makes a deal fall through.

So I should accept a verbal offer and leave myself open to that the Finance guy whose going to say “that quote didn’t include this and that, of course you have to pay xyz” ?

Been there, done that. Im not desperate, if I was I’d shoot over there and prepare for more back and forth if they play games. If they leave me on the back burner to see if another customer will pay more, that’s okay with me on this particular deal.

Im in South Florida - 9/10 times they’re going to try to to sneak something in if everything’s not in writing when terms are agreed upon.

Just got the worksheet. Guess Im not on the back burner anymore. The monthly isnt 271 or 269 like quoted, and the MF is base even though he said he won’t do that lol. They’re getting what they want in the capped fees, and I suppose it’s modest.

Date still says 1/31 to get the 99% - will this get rejected? It’s another 20/month if they change it to 98%.

Funny how so many dealerships use the same old software.

Why pay for something that ain’t broke.

Ever look at a car repair shop? Their software is from the 80s

As is the dealer’s. But I get it.

It’s just that this Nissan quote looks almost exactly like the GM one I just got but the Nissan dealer I went to last year was more advanced. Everything was on a giant touchpad so I didn’t have to sign any paper and the original quote wasn’t like this.

But… at the very end when he printed the paperwork… it was on that old spool fed line printer… so nostalgic.

Oh yah the Giant touchpad, that was nice (I did one of those recently).

Though at the absolute end, the bank website crashed and he still had to print it out and put it in an envelope … hehe

I bought a crew cab S last night, RV is 98% and MF is .00227

What dealer?

Does anyone have a list of Feb numbers? Specifically RVs? While we know the S went to 98%, curious if any others went up or down. Finding 4x4s in my area (Texas) reduces inventory, will go for SV or Pro if residuals make them favorable.

Which dealer in SoFla, I’ve had such a hard time getting anyone even remotely close to the deal here?

Edmunds did not help?
