Tesla Ordering Tips - And Most Other Reasonable Things Tesla

Model Y w/ HW4 in the wild…

https://twitter.com/BLKMDL3/status/1661794003690606592

I believe only the performance edition qualifies for $7500, the other two are $3750. Very little reason to buy a M3 over MY in that case

Discounts increased… aka, selling below MSRP.
Not mentioned in the tweet, appears to be $5K off Model S/X.

Trying to lease a model 3 but it’s saying no tax incentive 7500 unless I pick cash or loan. Is leasing not eligible anymore?

Doubled the discount on a 3. Moving towards free….

Probably blowing out all the HW3 cars before HW4 introduced.

Tesla gets the tax credit on a lease, not you.

Is it possible to know new factory orders will get the HW4 for sure ?

Yeah, but when I go through to do an order, it doesn’t show the discount of the EV credit is what I’m saying. Only on a buy

because Tesla gets the credit, not you…

Unlike most other companies, Tesla does not disclose how much, if any, of the tax credit it is passing through on leases.

OK, so it actually won’t take a discount off the monthly like it would with say other brands like Jeep or whatever Teslas just gonna keep it not give it to your discount on the lease at all.

I understand tesla gets the credit, but so does jeep when you do a grand Cherokee lease what I’m trying to figure out is why they don’t discount the monthly payment like all other manufacturers do with the EV credit.

If I understand what you are saying correctly. Every bank is different. All the others do this gimmick of adding the credit as a capital cost reduction but then inflating the MF and decreasing RV. I remember the month the lease credits were introduced, most car lease payments stayed the same or decreased by a very small amount as compared to the previous month.
Tesla does not include the credit capital cost reduction but they do have a favorable RV and MF that makes the monthly payment lower.

I think this has been discussed in this thread above.

Would you feel better if Tesla included the credit as a capital cost reduction and then increased the MF and decreased the RV to make the payment exactly the same as before?

OK I think you explained it the best now yeah I was just comparing it to basically how the grand Cherokee for example they give you that $7500 rebate and it brings the monthly payment down on the lease but basically what you’re saying is with Tesla they don’t do that so the payment you see is the payment you get so then I guess it makes more sense to buy it to get the credit and leasing the Tesla is not a good idea .

Tesla is now claiming Model 3 RWD qualifies for the full discount.
Also suggests change maybe retroactive to 4/18/23.
