Got it. So I’ve got a 2022 Rubicon 4xe acquired through Clutch via Mark Dodge from the tail end of the crazy days that is coming due soon at the end of June. I really like the Jeep (SOT, Cold Weather, Advanced Safety, cloth seats, etc.), but have blown through the miles (currently at 48k on a 30k/3 year term lease) because I tripled my commute about half way through the lease.
Just got off the phone with CCAP to check out the options. While they wouldnt negotiate the RV of $43k, they did say that any lease extension would reduce the RV like as if it had originally been financed. Said I’d have to wait to the final 30 days to get the exact RV changes on extensions.
Going the dealer route as youve suggested may be interesting, but I’d likely have to eat that $4.7k in mileage. Either way, not bad when looking at it over the full lease term.
Quick random question regarding AIM inspection results. My car has a couple of minor hail dents on the hood, AIM report said it’s a flat fee $100 which I really doubt. How trustworthy is the report and who should I confirm it with? Orb should I get it repaired prior to turning it in?
Side note, called a few hail/dent guys apparently they want to go full on claiming insurance even it appears to be 4-5 shallow dents on the hood.
It’s pretty accurate from what I’ve seen. I had a real bad curb rash on a wheel that my wife put there and they only charged me $125. No other charges and there were some things they could have dinged me for.
EDIT:
Called CCAP and the rep confirmed that would be total amount.
Thanks for the confirmation! I’m curious if it’s a binding document (or at least to that effect) I can go by at the dealership. I’m worried if another 3rd party (the one who does the actual receiving inspection like Autovin) comes up with something else after the car left dealership, and CCAP decided to go by that, then I will be totally screwed lol. Sorry it’s my first time leasing with CCAP
Mine was interesting, the inspector printed on-site and when I called CCAP customer service, they don’t even have the report yet lol. I will call them again to triple check, and this would be a good set of DPs for future fellow leasees.
I see you got it from a different dealer and returned to another one where you did oil changes. Was it hard to get them to agree to take it?
I have a similar situation. The difference is that the GC 4xe was leased from the Northen NY dealer and the car has been in Houston for almost 2 years.
I have not received an actual Bill from CCAP yet, just the report. As for the lease return, I called and asked about it and said I was interested in possibly leasing another vehicle while I was there, which I kinda sorta was. Made sure we handled the grounding first and then talked about it, not getting too far.
I returned mine about 2 months ago. Gupton purchase, all service and recalls done at local CJDR dealership. CCAP rep said it’s a courtesy for a dealer to return the vehicles and to make an appointment. They took it, more interested in the potential sales lead but they were not pushy. No surprises with return process, two weeks before AIM inspector found ‘no damage’ but there were a couple minor things, some paint chipped on the rear painted fender (I assume someone bumped the car in parking lot, it had paint transfer), I cleaned it up best I could, no dents/damage to the actual fender just paint. Also pretty good road rash that I touched up with black wheel gloss paint. I pointed them out and he said there were acceptable, no charge. Few weeks later I received the final bill that just showed the disposition fee due. I tracked the vehicle, it took about a month for it to hit used market, carmax bought it. Looks like it ended back up in TN but the buyer was in PA and had the car transferred. Purchase price was 3-4k less than the residual in the contract.
When do folks return the lease? On the final day that it matures? I’ve called my local dealer and they said to bring it in, no appointment needed. I’ve never returned a lease without getting into a new one so not sure about the timing and all
I contacted CCAP since my dealer doesn’t do lease returns on weekends and they said you have 10 days from maturity to turn it in too. I’ll me turning it in 2 days after maturity.
