Most people who ordered before the price increase are price protected, so no impact there. One thing I learned from watching 4XE prices jump every few months last year is that they have the potential to keep going up. Are you not protected and potentially upside down on a flip?
Since I’m in TX, I would have to pay 6.25% on full selling price of the vehicle. Even after running the numbers and seeing that I would likely make some money, the margins were just too thin to justify possibly getting stuck with a $60k Jeep. I never ordered and with the last MSRP hike I definitely won’t.
Really interested in the 4XE Grand Cherokees though and should be in a better spot financially by the time they’re released
have you ever read/seen any justification on why TX does that? seems like it would totally kill the lease market in TX - I mean that adds like $50-70/month to any lease. Even worse if you end up buying out the lease and paying again for a portion…
That’s kind of whack, tons of car companies let you choose your color with no extra charge. Jeeps are supposed to be lively.
Like who? Most everyone has a color upcharge on all but 1-2 colors.

Jeep seems to be like Disney World - they can keep rising the prices and people keep buying - but one day they may kill the golden goose…
Generally a very low tax state, but they want their cut somehow I guess.
It does generally kill leases lol the only way to really get a good deal is with sales tax credits that are offered by the financial institution running the lease (the captive?). Sales tax credits either reduce tax liability to 1.25% or 0%.
I hate to break it to you, but everyone is raising prices, Jeep is just following the Tesla model of doing it mid model year.

Texas has no state income tax. I would gladly trade my state income tax of 5.25% for crappy lease deals.
