When I was looking to lease a Q8 e-tron SUV in December, I noticed that there was a $750 incentive available. I wasn’t a member then (still trying to join), but I plan to hopefully be a member for 60 days just prior to my March 13 lease maturity on my current S4. However, it appears that in January, only MB and a bunch of Stellantis brands have PenFed incentives/certificates available on certain models. So how often does Audi appear on the incentives list? Thanks in advance!
You can’t give them $5 to open an account? wow.
Might want to skim this thread
It’s not a matter of not having $5 to join. They require you to upload a photo of your social security card and I can’t locate my card. I have applied to SSA for a replacement card which is on the way.
Wow that’s new! Yikes.
If you have Costco, every now and then they do Audi
Weird, I set up an account 2 days ago and didn’t have to do that.
They have asked me to upload photos of my drivers license, SS card and a utility bill to verify my identity. I thought it was weird too since nobody ever asks for your physical SS card. So my membership is on hold until my replacement SS card arrives. However, if only MB and Stellantis brands have incentives, I might skip PenFed all together. Audi had PenFed incentives as of December 2023. When I got my S4 back in March 2021, Costco had a $1,500 incentive which I used. Hopefully Audi will show up again by mid-March 2024.
They did the same thing to me. I laminated my SS card back in the early 90s and still have it, I remember pulling it out for this. my challenge is always trying to reproduce my signature from almost 30 years ago whenever I have to show it.
I also had an odd issue with PenFed. I submitted my drivers license and they approved my account over 3 weeks ago, but they still haven’t set up my account due to an issue on the backend. I have called 4 times trying to get this resolved. Each time I call, I am promised it will be resolved within 24 hours, but they have yet to resolve the issue.
If you think joining PenFed is a PITA, try using any of their financial products. ![]()
I just signed up very smoothly. Instant approval, but it took 1 day to be able to login my online account and I set the ACH to fund the account.
In any case, I signed up for Costco, Sam’s, Penfed to be ready this year ![]()
Sam’s Club does membership deals, and signed up for $25 in December through Rakuten deal with %12 cash back and bought tons of toilet paper on another deal to get my membership cost
If you are not rakuten member, you can use my link to get $30 back on your first shopping: https://www.rakuten.com/r/EMEKTU2?eeid=45830
Regarding Costco, I am following big deals to get back my membership cost… I don’t know what is cheaper than the market rate yet. I tried Costco insurance but they don’t do it in California, so looking for something else.
(I am also following Audi deals)
Since I was the OP on this thread, I wanted to give an update that I got my PenFed membership sorted out. My replacement social security card arrived in the mail yesterday and I uploaded scanned copies of my SS card, drivers license and a utility bill this morning. It took a few hours for verification but I was able to fund my PenFed savings account with $50 from my Wells Fargo account. The opening date of my account is apparently 1/4/2024, so I should meet the 60-day eligibility about a week before my Audi lease is up. Hopefully PenFed will offer incentives on brands other than MB and Stellantis group next month.
