I saw a dude post his numbers from southcal. $20300 for a 2016 Camry SE (MSRP $24900) which is very encouraging.
I think it’s a great deal and I am trying to get close to that number.
I am living in North California Bay Area. I have contacted some dealerships in Bay Area and one said Toyota Bay Area dealership need to pay $800 for the transportation which dealerships in LA don’t. Thus, they simply can’t offer the same price as southcal dealerships do, not even close.
Is it true?
Given the $20300 price from southcal, how much price do you think I can get or target for?
Perhaps someone else can speak to your question on pricing differences, but here’s an interesting fact: Toyota’s lease program is marginally better in Northern California than it is in Southern California.
Toyota programs are weirdly regional, and residuals are 1% higher in Nor Cal than it is in So Cal for Camry SE. MF (.00001) is the same. Northern California grad cash is slightly higher: $1,000 vs $750.
As far as the difference in transportation fee, that’s simply BS. Destination charge is always $835, unless if you live outside of Continental US.
Toyota is cracking on dealers who advertise below-invoice prices, so it might take more emailing to get the true market price on a Camry in your region. Back in January, I helped a reader lease a Camry LE for $3,600 off MSRP before incentives in Northern California, so something in that range should be doable.
Thank you very much for your reply. The reference number you provided ($3600 off MSRP) in NorCal is very helpful.
I will try to target to similar numbers. Once I obtain any results, I will update in this forum.
