How much Discount for a Loaner 2018 S450?

Hey guys,
Even though I’ve pretty much decided to wait until lease end I keep getting offers. The most recent is a 98895 MSRP S450 for 83998. This equates to a ~15% discount. the S450 is a 2018 loaner with a little over 9k miles on it. What do you guys think would be a reasonable discount? I’m thinking at least 20% in order to make it worth my while.

What’s the MP you are aiming for and what’s the discount required to get you there?

this is my targeted deal, but it feels pretty far off. The car has almost 10k miles on it and the warranty was punched in June '18.

Why not add MSDs?

Pretty sure I know what car/dealer you’re talking about. It’s been there a while. Maybe go in with 75 and settle for 78 or so?

Is that a loaner or a demo? I’ve never seen S450 loaners

I was omitting MSD’s for the base deal. Once that’s ironed out I was going to add 2-3 MSD’s as I’d rather not put too much in at the moment at signing.

So you think that 78 is probably the FMV for this car?

I also know which dealership this is at… they are generally not “hackr” friendly (as are most dealerships in Bergen County IMO). I think the max you’ll be able to get to is a little less than ~20% off MSRP. Definitely try at 75k though and go from there, you never know… 18’s will most likely be losing lease support very soon, so timing will definitely work in your favor

Dealer is in south Jersey if that helps. I’ll send an offer in at 75, I’ll keep the thread posted

Oh… lol, there’s a very similar car in North Jersey… Also, if you’re eligible for corporate fleet, that might be another discount (not sure if it applies to loaners/ demos, however). Lastly, you’ll save a good amount by adding the maintenance to the lease as they will residualize it. Good luck!

2018 probably not leasable soon (assuming) so would move quick.

I’m supposed to hear back from the finance manager later today about my offer, but I wanted to get your thoughts on something. Edmunds lists the MF as .00034 and I’m being quoted a MF of .00025. Are they eating the difference or is something shady going on?

The dealer is wrong. They can’t charge less than buyrate, unless you do MSDs. No dealer would ever put MSDs down for a customer.

So I’m probably looking at a bait and switch situation. “Oh, I meant .0025, not 00025”

There’s one at Goldens Bridge NY with less miles and higher window $105 at same price. Will lease better but can only do 1 pay can’t do MSD’s in ny.

Thanks, Mort. I see it on Autotrader but not on their site. Strange, but it’s okay anyway, not crazy about this color combination.

I just got a call that the S450 I was looking at was sold this afternoon, so back to the drawing board for now.

Easiest way to screen for them is autotrader. Time is not on your side, going to run our of time, lease support will be gone soon on 18’s.
