It looks like as of Sep 30, 2025 the EV tax credit will not exist.
Are dealers still offering $6500 back on most new purchases? I’m not entirely sure what I want to buy yet but mostly considering:
model 3 or model y
toyota rav4 PHEV, but I wanted to wait until the 2026 models came out since the 2025 models and before still have cablegate issues. It’s /possible/ the PHEV version arrives by september but my guess is more likely it’ll land in october+
Yes, the RAV4 PHEV is still getting $6500 lease cash. Once the EV credits disappear, Toyota will need to still do something to move the PHEVs since they are more expensive than the regular hybrids.
I’m definitely curious to see what happens to EV pricing both new and used once the tax credit disappears. I can’t possibly imagine consumers will keep buying them with a 6.5k price increase. Maybe Teslas for the wealthier that want full FSD.
