Honda Plugin Clarity with "Replace Your Ride" program $200 mo

After 4 months of waiting and bunch paper work, it’s almost done.

What is the best price and dealer for purchase of the Honda Clarity PHEV?

Purchase is the way to go. 9.5k replace your ride + 7.5k fed + 2.5k state (post sale rebate) + hopefully 3.5k dealer discount should land you a base model for net 12k.

Assuming you owe 7.5k or more in fed taxes …

Sharing the prices I’ve got from two Honda dealers:

Galpin Honda rep told me they will sell it at MSRP! No discount. They explained they currently have 22 cars on hold in garage waiting for check to clear from RYR program.

Pasadena Honda initially quoted me over the internet…
out the door price with OC zip code: Touring $38231, Base $35749.

I went in two days ago to Pasadena and able to get the final price down to $34688 for base model. I am doing 50% down (included the $4500RYR), 50% finance. 720+ credit qualify for 0.9% APR for 60 months. It’s about $700 more than other two dealers that are NOT with the RYR program. Due to my zip code in OC(doesn’t qualify for $5k plus up), I only got $4500 from RYR. Now just have to wait 3-5 weeks for the check to clear and go pickup the car.

Hope this info helps other potential buyers out there

Apparently I’m ineligible for the promotion :frowning:

@mwu Does that mean you are paying like 17k total (9500 + 200*36) for the 36 month lease?

The total cost is correct 17k. But 9.5k is paid by the good tax payers of the Socialist Republic of California …

Got it. Thanks.

I thought PHEV gets $1,500 rebate, not $2,500

hum… I’ve always thought it was $2500 as well!?

Based on website, it does state only $1500:

Anyone can confirm that?

Yeah but that $1500 is boosted by $2000 for low income people . Which the OP probably is considering they qualified for the maximum RYR rebate.

I also went through RYR. And yeah I can echo the issue that dealers backtrack on all their deals and offers once they hear you’re on RYR. The situation is messed up. And the reason is that RYR only works with certain dealerships. I don’t know why there is this restriction. Something fishy is going on I’m sure.

a little late to the game, no?

My mom went through RYR. The only Honda dealer is now Honda of Pasadena, and they told us that we should take whatever we can get because we’re already getting money from the government. Decided to go with CarMax and avoid the hassle. Toyota is much better, as a matter I almost went with Cody. Even though we ultimately went with CarMax, I still would like to give Cody a shoutout for being so upfront and easy to work with.

No I don’t see how it is late. RYR still exists and as seen below, the issue is now even worse.

So they just made it worse. One must wonder…

You’re replying to posts from 6 months ago, lol. But you do you

How long did it take from your package being sent to AQMD staff for final approval?

Can you please provide more details about your experience?
Specifically, the time from your package being sent by your case worker to the AQDM, My situation and anxiety lies in the $7500 Federal incentive phasing out on March 31st. If the approval take longer, Can I quit the whole process and move somewhere else? Also the mark ups they exaggerate when they find out you are in the RYR program, they are ridiculous and extremely abusive, but we have no choice.

How long did it take for you in this case, from the day you started your application to the day you went to pick up the car? I am in the 4 step, which shows is under review by AQDM staff. How long from there to the car delivery? Any information is greatly appreciated.

I’m doing the RYR process right now, so far it is quick but the moment I mentioned the RYR they upped the price $1,500 ! Just because of the program. Literally upped the price.

A dealer taking advantage of a customer…never heard anything like it!

A no haggle price should go both ways.
