Honda Civic Sedan LX 2018 Is this a good deal?

I just got this quote for a Honda Civic Sedan LX 2018 lease.

  • MSRP $21,170
  • Money Factor 0.00159
  • Selling price $19,026
  • $2,200 Due at signing
  • Monthly $226.01 Including tax
  • 36 Months
  • 12,000 Miles/year

Thanks in advance.

No. not at all. $287 for a base model Honda Civic without alloy wheels in an atrocious deal.

Yeah a Jetta would be a better deal

What is $287? Its’s $226.01 per month. Sorry if I misunderstood you.

226 + down payment / 36 = 287

A down payment is just a way of prepaying for a lease. Common wisdom here is to never put a down payment because you lose it if the car gets totaled. I would suggest doing a lot more research

As a general rule of thumb, if you go to KBB and your selling price is at the very top range of their fair market range you are almost never gonna have a good deal. Buy or lease I have never had too much trouble getting below KBBs fair market range. There is definitely more room to negotiate or just go for a 19 with the better residual.

Thank you - makes sense. By the way, what would be a fair value for monthly payment assuming down payment is $0? Thanks.

Thank you.

Something that is a lot lower and simply not feasible on a Civic. Either get a Jetta or reach out to Cody for a Corolla.

That’s far from a deal, that’s a complete rip-off…almost $300 for an LX Civic. You can jump into an Accord 1.5 sport for less than $300!!!

I know of a few people signing leases lately that didn’t do their due diligence and are now paying extremely high monthly payments on leases that could have been thousands less if they only took a few days to learn how a lease is structured and how to make a deal…I had a friend looking at a car and I said I would help him out, long story short they went out on their own and ended up paying $380 for a Honda CR-V EX awd!!! OUCH!

Nothing. Civic leases are atrocious. Don’t lease one.

I just picked up a '18 Civic Hatchback Sport CVT for $230 a month with tax, $0 drive off. MSRP was $23,445.

You should shoot for this deal:

$0 down, ~$198 a month including tax
MSRP: $21,170
Sell price: $17,400
MF: .00065
Residual: 53%
Lease cash: $1600
LH Score: 9.6 years

Thanks for guidance.

Wow. That is amazing, was it in NorCal? If so I would love to do the same so PM me for details if possible.

Thanks
