Why are the government fees so high in your spreadsheet ($1250)
NJ state charges 3 times higher registration costs to register an electric car to make us for loss of gas tax revenue.
Look at my other calc for gas powered cars for regular dmv charges.
Anyone registering an electric car in NJ for 3 years will have similar dmv fees

NY registration is $400 and if buying electirc car there is extra rebate of $500 from NY state which you get on top of BMW rebates.

May 2025 BMW update
The push this month will be on electric apart from some left over 2024 gas units which are very rare.
If you are stuck on colors, options, wheels etc. these might not be for you. Most are one-off units so if they don’t work for you there is not much you can’t fix with paying more money. Just don’t expect to get the deepest deal and be picky about options.
