They should be prepared for several fender benders in the school parking lot. Even if not their fault, the hassle of having to get them repaired before turning in a lease would discourage me from having a high school student drive a leased car, no matter how cheap the payment.
Or contact some Turo owners about monthly rentals that can be extended month to month.
This is interesting too. Do you have any sources to direct me to for this? Plenty on the forums? Iāll search in a bit.

This is a good point. Iām not sure how good of a driver she is so there could potentially be fees for returning and damaged goods.
If I were you Iād just back out of this whole mess. Why does the kid even have a choice on what they get? Did the bus stop running or legs stop walking? Haha
Get her a used Jeep Wrangler or FJ Cruiser then. Should be cool enough and a few fender benders just adds to the charm.
Theres 2 ways of doing this.
1 post in wanted section exactly what you want, and what your open, budget, etc
2 check market place and see who deals with nissan in northeast, send them a PM what your looking for and they will send you a personalized quote.
High failure rate doesnāt mean 100% failure. High single digits is probably considered high for a Toyota engine.
Anyway thatās all moot as the end-user is entitled enough to not drive a depreciated used car in HS
grab a ev blazer one pay, 12 months in transfer out
When transfers are involved, always do monthly payments. Even though the TCO is higher, finding anyone to pony up a lump sum on a transfer is a b!

best 1st car to practice DRIVING
This is a forum with lots of participants who have completely different priorities than most ānormalā car shoppers. So take advice with a grain of salt. I have two boys who have just graduated from college so Iām quite well familiar with these questions from parents of their friends.
1/ Donāt even try finding a lease solution. Just buy.
2/ Yes, my own approach was buying ābargainā Volvos (one C30 T5 6-speed, one S60 T6) and at the end got the money back on them. But in truth very few people are willing to take the risks and deal with problems of buying cheap cars.
3/ Used cars are still weirdly expensive. Iād aim for what ever new car that I can get a great deal for (or possibly a used -24 with only a few thousand miles if the price would justify it) Personally Iād probably get a Mazda CX-30 or a VW Jetta or Taos but if the girl wonāt care about how it really drives there are huge discounts to be had on Buicks and Jeep Compass⦠Then sell to Carvana when they no longer need the car. Modern car safety, all driver aids and warranty are going to be super valuable to most parents with a 16 year old. No drama, happy parents.
Iāve finally stopped giving people advice that they donāt want. Much easier to give them the answers they want.
Looks like they are zeroing in on this one.

Not my cup of tea. But they want what they want. I feel like for 21k. You can get a lot more than a āKiaā. They apparently love the green color and the looks of the car.
I completely hear you on the last point. I think some people just want affirmation and not advice.
They clearly have their mind made up. This is the part where you wash your hands of your involvement and tell them, āgood luck.ā
The Soul has to be one of the ugliest cars Iāve ever seen, either in this body style or previous iterations. I will also never forget the commercials with the hamsters driving them, and they are forever the āhamster carā to me.
1,000 per cent
Do not buy a 2011-2021 Hyundai or Kia. They are tough to insure, and if you can it is expensive due to the theft issues. The recall has not changed pricing. Insurers have lost a lot of $$ on these and are trying to recoup what they have lost.
If you do decide to get this, at least have a chat with your insurance broker before hand and get pricing and if there are any restrictions on the vehicle.
Also have never heard of anyone waking up in the morning and saying āyou know whatā¦today is the day im gonna go out and buy a kia soulā.
Also,
still not as bad as the Fiat Multipla
I remember the Soul having some really cool commercials when it was first released
