Hi All! Looking for some advice on a BoltEV lease in TX. However, some of my questions are Chevrolet specific so someone like @chevysalesgirl@Randy_Haddox1@Shellzj might be able to help.
First I think I’ve successfully started moving the price of a BoltEV in TX. I feel pretty accomplished but it’s still not quite where I want to be. Here are the numbers
MSRP 43570
Sale 38202
Doc 150
DMV 218.75
Acq 595
Tax 2549.44 (I thought it was 6.25 in TX but this comes out to around 6.5)
Incentives -2600
Net Cap Cost 39532.35 <----Shouldn’t that be 39,115.19?
MF 0.00078
RV 60% (26142)
Monthly payment of $423.17 (1st payment due at signing). <-------with correct addition and subtraction I get $411.28
Why don’t these numbers quite add up? Just an addition and subtraction problem?
I know better numbers are out there for other states but TX sucks for EV. My only concern is I don’t know what the $2600 in incentives entails. I would think I qualify for the $500 customer cash lease conquest since I’m currently leasing an i3 but it’s not broken out in those numbers.
My last issue is with the timing of all of this. Dealer of course is putting pressure to get it done by next Tuesday before incentives change. I know waiting would be running a bit of a risk. My other concern is with my current BMW lease. I don’t want to be saddled with two lease payments (final BMW payment in December). Are there any ways to push or defer a payment or two through Chevy? I’d like to think I could return my i3 early at almost 9000 miles UNDER my allowance and get some sort of payment waved, but we all know that won’t happen.
I wouldn’t want to pay for both the i3 and Bolt simultaneously. You will not get any money back from BMW and you will have to pay a $350 disposition fee.
My hunch is that deals will not get worse for the Bolt in Texas in November.
Who are you dealing with? I liked Tim Stewart at Classic in Grapevine. He seemed to understand the volume play for electrics.
I think $423 is a solid deal. But I’d also push for $399, which is about another $1000 in discount. However, I just leased a $58k i3 REX for $399. The Chevy has a better motor and battery, but the i3 still has the better construction, city handling, interior comfort, style, free charging, and dealership experience.
Re tax - it’s also charged on the dealer fees and add ins, that’s probably your difference.
Thanks. the i3 just doesn’t work for us and a small child. The suicide doors are a pain and the “revolutionary” interior build materials have not held up as well as I would think for a luxury brand.
Believe Texas passed or renewed a $2500 credit for EV so that is what the $2600 might be. If Texas sucks then Iowa really is bad as No state incentive of any kind on Ev here.
If you have the time, consider renting it out on Turo? And as you’ve mentioned, have you mentioned your current i3 lease dilemma to your Chevy salesperson yet? They may consider doing something… or not. Doesn’t hurt to ask.
Slightly revised deal. Still think it’s good for TX.

Payment of $405 ish per month and they are paying one of my last BMW i3 payments.
Not signing until Wednesday. So my questions are:
This is still a good deal, correct?
Also, won’t new incentives possibly be available Wednesday? If they are better than they are now should I press for those as well?
Andy, could you please pm who you worked with to secure your bolt deal? Finally ready to pick one up, but inventories are low due to the threat of ending the fed tax rate earlier this month. This will be a week long slog to secure a deal close to yours.
