You’re thinking about this backwards. The MF the dealer is using is irrelevant because for the deal YOU are willing to take, you want base MF. Base MF is what @VirginiaBeacher plugged into his calc link. I dabbled a step further as to what multiple security deposits would look like and added $1K to the sales price for Audicare (might be slightly more but this gets you in the ballpark) which adds 1% to the residual.
You need to tell the dealer with the 12% or so discount, base MF, incentives plus MSDs (or if not remove them) and Audicare, you want to be at monthly price in the calc link spits out with only standard fees out of pocket and no cap cost reduction.
In short, know the numbers and control the deal, don’t waste time trying to reverse engineer something the dealer provides you.
“Another dealer closer to north miami beach is the one giving the discount, but these are the guys telling me they can not disclosure the MF and RV (well, at least the sales guy)”
Thank you really for all the help!!!
Do you think on a SUV like this (Audis Q5/SQ5) etc, is it possible/doable/achievable to ask for MORE discount (like Oliver Twist) and have only dealer discount (not counting factory incentives) close to 15% ???
In Florida you also have to watch all the dealer fees, doc fees, other adders like a hawk.
They will often play three card monty with a selling “discount” then load it up on the back end with fees, add-ons, license extras, Permaplate, etc. etc. Then give you a famous Autonation lease worksheet that takes a KGB agent to try and decode the missing info
15% is possible but will really depend on finding a dealer willing to work with you on a specific unit. 9 out of 10 dealers will tell you no which means playing the long game or being willing to ship/fly to pick up the car. If you really feel you need a Prestige, and with certain options, you will have a harder time. As others have said, considering a P+ will give you a better deal and more options. I have an SQ5 and if there is anything unique about the Prestige trim, I barely notice, let alone a lay person. Heck, its hard to distinguish the SQ5 from the Q5 as it is beyond subtle details.
What about the Costco 8% off? I just noticed that and I am a Costco Member! Have any of you used it?
Is that really on top of all other Factory incentives and Dealer discounts? if so, I can be close to 20% off MSRP !
Update,
So, the dealer is offering me the following. How it looks?
MSRP: $69065
Factory incentives: $3250
Dealer Discount : $8,093
New Adjusted Selling Price: $57722
12k/36
33154 (Florida)
Audi Care Included
$2000 OOP (1st payment included and some other Florida fees)
Monthly $766 (includes sales tax)
MF: .00044
RV: 52%
No MSDs
Ok so now you are at the base deal we worked up in the calculator for you. The discount didn’t change. 39/12 will save you money, I would go with that term as long as registration fees to extend a few months past 3 years will be expensive in FL. I would strongly suggest MSDs, again, it will save you more money as noted in the calculator link.
I know you said the prestige makes this “unique” but just so we are clear you are willing to pay over $150 a month more for adaptive cruise control, power steering column and a 360 camera?
